Giants biggest addition in the off-season was the subtraction of Kapler as MGR.
It will be interesting to see where this Ohtani story goes. The fact no one seems to be telling the same story makes it seem like there's a lot more to it.
The biggest baseball star in the world is sending money from his personal accounts to pay an illegal bookie 4.5 million?
If Ohtani was a scrub, he'd have been released within an hour.
Itโs almost like there is a two tiered justice system in MLB.
Unwritten rules and all. Maybe we need a ruling from St Louis Cardinal fans.
As of now, MLB is not planning on investigating Ohtani.
Somewhere Pete Rose is kicking himself for not getting an assistant to place bets for him to blame if he got caught.
Per Chris Carter, gotta have a fall guy.

The truth always comes slithering to the top. Not tho like the cream always rises. But as long as Otani did not bet on baseball he is safe. That is if he in fact was betting on something.

Probably all depends on the bookie. If the feds have him for something and he can provide the receipts on Ohtani, then Ohtani might be cooked.
If not, Ohtani will likely skate.

If Ohtani was gambling using an illegal bookie or offshore account, that violates League Rule 21.
****************
League Rule 21 states that players and team employees are prohibited from ... wagering with illegal or offshore bookmakers. It also mentions the possible punishments, which may be largely left up to the league's front office.
So if Ohtani knew the money was for gambling debts and voluntarily wrote the checks or wire transfers where is the theft?
Imaginary.
