Sign Janis! as well as Barclay.
Add Taylor to keep.
Lacy is officially gone - signed with Seattle. Now we need a RB to compliment Monty.
For the #Seahawks and RB Eddie Lacy, it's: 1 year, $5.55M with $3M fully guaranteed.

Really wanted him back, but that's a lot given the questions surrounding him.
I'm fine with TT passing on him. I like Lacy, and have no hard feelings to him. But in the end, he was given every opportunity to succeed, but he consistently demonstrated in inability to fully commit to his profession.
Lacy made 3.3 million during the four years of his rookie contract. Seattle just guaranteed him almost that much for one year. Obviously, no one was going to go multi-year on him.
It's another comp pick for us. If Eddie can keep the weight under control, he's an asset. I'm not convinced he ever will.
I'd rather put 5-6 million into Jamal Charles.
Prove-it contract. Overweight + bad foot = injury waiting to happen. Prove you can stay slim and stay healthy.
Also, Carroll is looking for the next Beast Mode and Lacy comes closest.
Definitely want Christine Michael back.
RB Jamaal Charles? Latavius Murray?
The list of needs to fill via a single draft on this team is getting longer. I have to think Ted is going to have to go back to FA (not including his own) even though he probably wanted to stop with the 2 TE's he picked up.
Eddie can be Seattle's injury problem now.
Classic. The tone would be much different if Lacy signed that same deal with the Packers.
Best comment from a Seahawks fan: " We went from beast mode to feast mode."

Disagree. I think most would think the price too high considering the questions....

CB Davon House has agreed to one-year deal with the #Packers, according to a source.
Or it could have been...
Seattle China food >>> Minneapolis China food >>> Green Bay China food

Yeah, I don't like that decision by TT. Lacy is worth 6 per to us.
Edit: I see TT offered the same amount.

Booo! I was just going to post that!
Don't think $3 million for a prove it deal as productive as Lacy has been is out of the question. It's fair. Makes me think Eddie wanted to go somewhere else. I'll be surprised if TT didn't offer something in that ballpark to keep him.
I wonder if Eddie is carrying a little resentment for MM calling him a sloppy fatass that needed to lose some weight after the 2015 season.
Good RB. Going to miss him. I have to be honest. None of the current FA RB's does a thing for me. Maybe Latavius Murray but I'm not sure he's anything more than Christine Michael.
RB Eddie Lacy visited Sea (his new team), Minn and GB in the last wk. For one of the three teams Lacy weighed 267. Listed last year at 234.

This is the one that I am disappointed about. Last month there was a lot of talk about how the Packers could bring him back for a one year $3m prove it deal and I wondered if he might get a bit more. I understand the injury and weight issues but he has also been a great runner at times and has the ability to run over and through people which most backs don't have. Going to Seattle makes it worse. If TT did offer a similar package I can't complain. Adding a Charles and a draft pick along with Monty would leave them in pretty good shape but I will miss watching Lacy run.

267? NUTS!
267 lbs. During his FA year conducting visits. I changed my mind. You can't give away millions for a guy that is clearly not capable of controlling his weight. 267 lbs is absurd.

Best China food I ever had was a short jaunt from Seattle in Vancouver.
Looks like Lacy got $5.5m on a 1 year deal ($3m guaranteed). I was expecting something closer to $3m, so good for Lacy. Wish it would have worked out but the weight thing was always going to be an issue. He played well last year but have to wonder if the weight, in part, caused his ankle injury.
It's a good year to draft a RB so hopefully TT looks at one in the 3rd-5th rounds. Don't think Monty is ready to carry 100% of the load.
i wish Lacy the best, and it worries me. I think he was the best overall RB on the market, and better than any pick after the second round. he became an every down back in every way imaginable. I see no way that the RB position didn't just get downgraded.
Sure hope TT didn't offer a similar number if Eddie was giving interviews at 267 lbs.
Thought he was around 225-230 in college
Eddie could run Phat. The problem is Eddie can't stay healthy Phat.
And his injury and subsequent surgery was far more complicated then initially thought. IIRC, I believe MM said at The Combine he didn't believe Lacy would be cleared to fully practice until TC.
Coming off major surgery + Phat are major reasons to believe he's not going to last a full season.
House call? NFL alert that Davon is back in GB on 1Yr/3.5M deal
TT may have offered the same amount of money overall, but tied more of it to incentives. Fewer incentives and more guaranteed dollars is probably the deciding factor more often than not.
Verified account @RapSheet 21m21 minutes ago#Packers House gets 1-yr, roughly $3.5M, source said (while visiting Pitt today).
House is hardly replacing Sam Shields but he'll be a decent 3rd/4th CB option. They still need a high pick at CB in the draft and thankfully it's a deep one for corners.
Rollins, Randall, House, Gunther and a new high pick. Not a terrible future 4some.
I'll be putting my Lacy jersey next to my A.J. Hawk one!
For a draft and develope team, allowing 2 consecutive second rounders to sign, really manageable contracts, in consecutive years, seems against the grain.
Surprised Lacy picked Seattle. Suspect oline and perhaps Thomas Rawls in front of him. Bottom line is that he could not be trusted to be available because of his weight issues. He may have had a few highlight runs, but backs like that don't last long.

You're assuming both players wanted to return.
Not if they aren't going to develop. I love Eddie, one of my favorite players, but no way he's going to be effective in this offense at that weight for more than half a season--if that.
