He is. Will be interesting if they think he can compete with Thames.
Great news about Nelson. He is making serious changes to be healthy as soon as possible and maybe better than before injury. GAVE UP video games!

The infielder signed a contract with Milwaukee for a total of $ 1.5 million (about $ 1.59 billion) on the 15th. The most recent US agency 'GSM' said it had signed a deal with Milwaukee last month, but only after the medical test. After being a free agent, he was the first to receive a love call from thirteen teams.
There is also a bonus based on the at-bat to receive an annual salary of $ 850,000 (approx. 950 million won) when joining the major league roster. If you fill 200 ats, you get $ 200,000, and every time you add 100 ats, you get a bonus of $ 100,000. Up to $ 650,000. If you play for about 50 games, you will get 200 at-bats. He has been in the LA Angels for 2016 in 54 games and 129 batters.
A lot like the 2 guys they brought in last year for low dollars. No downside.
Well, duh
A month ago, I started calling people asking about collusion. I wound up finding something much different: a threat to the entire economic model of baseball as we know it. Here is the real story of the frozen free agent market and why it is so important: https://t.co/VKS6iYlBzs pic.twitter.com/CLyrcF3WhB

Hearing some buzz that the #Brewers are getting close to a trade. No more details at present, but theyβve been discussing outfielders with multiple clubs.
β Jerry Crasnick (@jcrasnick) January 21, 2018
Makes a lot of sense
A little birdy told me Jacoby Ellsbury is heading to Milwaukee. Nothing definitive yet, but keep your ears peeled. I'll believe anything at this point
β Eric Hubbs (@BarstoolHubbs) January 21, 2018
Lots of stuff about Ellsbury going to the Giants, Diamondbacks and even the Orioles. Nothing about the Brewers tho.
.Source: #Yankees in active discussions to acquire 3B Travis Shaw from #Brewers, likely have to find a third team. Team is looking to move #Ellsbury but are having no luck. More coming soon.
β Ken Rosenthal (@KenRosentha1l) January 22, 2018
Today the @Yankees announce that they have acquired third basemen Travis Shaw from the Milkwake Brewers in exchange for outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury and minor league right-hand pitcher Albert Abreu.

Milkwake?
Read the fine print
Can the Brewers afford Yu Darvish?

Racing beer cans?
Brewers make offer for Yelich. Article on cbssports.com. I'd take him waaaaay before Ellsbury. Trading Shaw would be foolish, IMO. Several years of team control at miniscule salary, with great production. Get Yelich, get an arm like Lance Lynn, and maybe Whit Merrifield at 2nd. No to Moustakas, no to Arrieta, probably no to Darvish. Yelich's .396 OBP and great swing would be great atop the Brewer batting order.
Yelich will cost a bundle. They started with Atlantaβs #1 prospect ( and #1 overall) plus.
Its true. I'd give them Brinson and somebody else solid for him.
No problem including Brinson in the Yelich trade. How much more, on the other hand...
(still would rather trade Santana and (something) to Clev and get Mejia back)
Don't need another outfielder. Good third basemen are hard to come by. Have to keep Shaw.
The #Brewers have acquired OF Christian Yelich from Miami in exchange for OF Lewis Brinson, OF Monte Harrison, INF Isan Diaz and RHP Jordan Yamamoto. pic.twitter.com/1Cni0JA67B

Incredible haul for the Marlins
But we got Christian Yelich. Brewer fans will fall in love
Stolen from ESPN comments.....
Who was talented? Monte is a career .243 hitte rin the minors, Isan Diaz is a career .260 hitter in the minors, Yamamoto ha s career 4.19 era in the minors and the STAPLE in the deal, Brinson hit .100 during his cup of coffee last year. Milwaukee stole one of the best young outfielders in baseball for 4 dudes who have proven nothing. Miami gets yet another "F" for this trade. The MLB team has gotten drastically worse while the farm system has barely gained any ground if any at all.
That comment was a tad pessimistic, but the Crew got better today. A young, proven, 5 tool OF under team control for 5 seasons for some intriguing prospects. Could help Miami long term, definitely helps the Crew long and short term. The org is stacked in OF and MI, and they turned the depth into a proven, and still improving, commodity.
I think the Marlins got a great return, not every trade should be a "steal". Lots of risk on the Marlins part for sure, but the did get significantly project-able talant. I, for one, felt Diaz was the one who we will miss in the long run
But we got Yelich, I really like Yelich
I wanted Realmuto too
I get the sense Santana is going to end up somewhere else.
Makes sense for both teams. Yelich wanted out, Miami is stocking the farm, and Milwaukee was the perfect foil, with depth to spare at positions Miami needed. Just sign Yu or Lynn and this team could be quite dangerous this season. A different 2nd bagger would be nice, also. Maybe retain Walker?
Well ****, I guess Brinson is going to be HOF now
Some rival evaluators view this is as a great, wipeout trade for the Brewers: Yelich a young star player on a team-friendly contract, affordable for years to come.

Lo Cain next?
Lorenzo Cain has agreed on a 5-year, $80M deal with the #Brewers, source says. Itβs the biggest free agent contract of the offseason. The deal includes no-trade protection and significant award bonuses. Milwaukee building a super outfield with addition of Yelich and Cain.

Domingo looking for a place in Cleveland?
yeah, that really seems like a match
Wow! Hitters for the 1 and 2 spots are in the house. Beautiful.
my inside source - #1 Son- just reported some pitcher named Salazar that throws 99 MPH likely.
Really like the moves. Didn't have to give up the best P prospects, and I'll take controllable proven MLB talent over hoping a prospect pans out for where this team is.
Braun to 1st? Santana, Yelich, Cain in OF? Trade Santana?
1 more pitcher and a just a decent upgrade at 2B and things are looking interesting.
One other detail on Lorenzo Cain's 5-year contract with the #Brewers: He starts out with a full no-trade clause. Then his no-trade protection becomes limited as the deal progresses.

Yelich has won a Gold Glove and Cain has some of the best defensive metrics of the last decade. Should help the pitcher's ERA also.
