Thompson on trades, extra swings: "We hope it works out. We still have to finish it tomorrow."

Ted Thompson gets to the podium and is out of breath. All those trades will do that to you. Pretty funny.

ROTTT does little or nothing in FA because D and D is where it is at

My halfling thief picks the lock on your draft room door and rearranges your board.

Thompson: (two trades with SF) It's a function of numbers. You trust your scouting dept. and how you've built your board.

TT: If you feel good about trading down and being comfortable you will get players later, so what if you're on short end of value chart?

Thompson: "Some of the trades resulted (from) solicitation on our part, some of it was spur-of-the-moment, we got a phone call."

I'll say he moves up more than once. Too many picks for few roster spots. TT should have a fun day tomorrow. If there is a player they want, they know they can move up to get him with all the ammo they have

I knew I'd screw up that Ted Thompson trade thing. It's 20 of 26 have been back in his nine drafts with #Packers.

#Packers trades up got Jeremy Thompson, Clay Matthews, Morgan Burnett, Jerel Worthy, Casey Hayward, Terrell Manning.
Just like I was telling a Queen fan today: I don't get too excited about the first two days because we get a ton of good quality on the last day, and then we follow that by scooping up free agents. Hehehe... Big Grin
One could argue that we've drafted the best d-lineman and best RB in the draft, both positions of need for the Packers. And in the process, TT accumulated four extra picks, giving us 10 more. Once again, I have to tip my hat to TT. I like the way he works the draft.

Don't let the round number throw you. Starr was 200th overall. Brady, a 6th rounder in the current 32 team format was 199th overall.

10 picks tomorrow. Good lord.

How many of these players will make the team?

Turnover tends to run about 10 rookies every year. I'll say 8 of them stick along with a couple of UDFA or end of preseason pickups or trades.

12 picks will never be too many for this GM.
