That's who I'm hoping for at 109. No to EDS at Center
Jones, Schwenke, whatever. EDS just isn't good enough, and they need to get a center before the good ones are gone (if I'm not mistaken, only one has been taken so far). I have faith that Ted and Mike know this (just look at how long they resisted putting Dietrich-Smith in there), and will take the right one.

The ho's or the pennies?

I presume, the point is almost moot.

The situation seems, it gets down to pennies.

As others admire, Ted... looks down and smirks, at times seemingly in disdain, then you realize, as you watch the glint in his eye, it is confidence.

Who knew, it all started with pennies.

You all!!

Handle my ass pennies.

In ROTTT I trust!!!

I knew I'd screw up that Ted Thompson trade thing. It's 20 of 26 have been back in his nine drafts with #Packers.

@jasonjwilde 3m
#Packers trades up got Jeremy Thompson, Clay Matthews, Morgan Burnett, Jerel Worthy, Casey Hayward, Terrell Manning.

Hmm, I really like TT's track record with those.
I have to admit that TT has me confused and disappointed with so many low picks. We have desperately needed a safety to replace Collins and could have gone to get an instant starter, but we got a RB instead. Our O didn't lose games last year; the D did. I fear TT has stockpiled too many picks down where too many carp and catfish live.

Did you miss all the 3rd and short or 4th and short plays last year where GB threw the ball like 90% of the time? That absolutely has to change and Lacy gives them a bruising, physical back that can do that.

We all like Kuhn but he's never been able to prove he can do that consistently, and James Starks should be able to do that but he hasn't been able to do it either. My guess is that both guys may end up getting cut as a result of this pick. They will likely go with a combo of Harris/Lacy and then Alex Green is their 3rd down, or change of pace type back.

As for the other comments, I fully expect TT will look to add a WR and S and probably OL. He's got 10 picks to work with. Even if he only hits on 30% of them that's still 3 more players to add to the mix. I'll bet Thompson's success rate is higher than that (historically). For sure Lacy and Datone Jones will see playing time this year.

Thank you. McMillan as a rookie did a decent job. Everybody remember bagging on Collins the first couple of years he played? I sure remember that collection of fans.

It's called draft and develop.
I think it's the same general complaint that people have about TT when it comes to free agency. It's not likely he's going to go out and add a bunch of guys (and grab the headlines) and it's been that way for years now but people still b!tch and moan about it.

TT has his plan. Whatever your view of him as the GM, I'd say he's been relatively successful. This isn't a 4-12 team. They've been one of the 5 best teams in the league since he took over and fired Sherman. To some extent, you have to trust that the guy knows what the heck he's doing.

They will find a starter to replace Woodson. It might just be a guy that's already on the roster. But make no mistake about it- TT knows what he's doing and he knows how to find players in the draft. It's then up to the coaching staff to develop these guys and I think for the most part that's worked as well.

Because they didn't make the probowl. Some folks just cannot make a projection.

Yeah, I think you're right. And that's basically what he said last night, but I can't find the quote at the moment. Something along the lines of, "We know what we're trying to do here, and now we'll find out tomorrow if we can make it work or not." I'm assuming he has a few guys in mind that he wants to grab in the 4th, and is trying to position himself for 3 4th rounders.

First he has to be able to get to the line of scrimmage without dodging several defenders. Next, his style of running is going to draw penalties with the new rules. Starks, Green, and Ryan were and are all pretty good RB's and there's a reason they can't do squat on this team.
The last point I'm going to make on this is if our biggest issue is finding a starting safety opposite Burnett then I'd say this team is in pretty good shape.

We have our franchise QB, which is something 2/3 of the teams in the league can't say.

We have a core of stud, established players at just about every position- Jordy/Jones, Raji, CMIII, Bulaga, Pickett, Sitton, etc. We some very good young up and comers in Hayward, Shields, Perry, Burnett, Cobb, etc. We have guys like Finley and Bishop that I think could be poised for big years.

Then you have guys like Jones and Lacy and other draft picks to work with to add some competition and secure some spots.

Life is pretty good if you are a Packers fan.

So now Ryan Grant is a good player? A player so good that no one else in the league picked him up?

Other than a few games in 2010 and in the playoffs what has James Starks ever done for this team?

Alex Green has some potential, I'll give you that. But he's not strong/powerful enough to be a feature guy or give you the tough yards. Lacy has proven he can do that against some of the best competition in college football.

Sure, the OL has a lot to do with that but don't think for a second the Packers running game woes were all on the OL. At some point you need to add talent to the RB position as well.

I think Harris/Lacy/Green give them a respectable backfield that can only help this offense.
Alex Green is a third down back and always has been a third down back. He was drafted for open field running and pass catching. Anyone who thought he was going to come into the NFL and be some kind of bruiser running back was fooling themselves. Guys like Green are what TT was bringing in to compliment the pass game. It's obvious TT is switching gears after watching how many 3 and outs last season. They need oline, no doubt about it, but let's not be oblivious to what the backfield was previously.

I was going to make a list, but you already made it.

I'd also like a FB, a developmental QB, an OLB Marcus Lattimore and a pony.
