Thanks all for the well wishes. Surgery was uneventful and should make a quick recovery. Some pain right now, but is tolerable. Sure is tough doing everything one handed, especially when right handed and that is the one operated on.

Hope you're getting healed up Ammo! I had to get a cortisone shot in both wrists earlier this year for inflammation. Worked pretty well for a while, but I just need to take better care of them.
I just noticed that Herb Adderley's cousin Nasir Adderley (Delaware) is in the draft this year and actually looks pretty good. If he runs well (estimated in the 4.5's) he could be a nice pick in R2 or R3, definitely has ball skills. Gotta get this kid in GB for the family connection alone.

Greatest impact players are 5 slobs that make things easier for everyone else. Including guys that play defense.

Value....value value value.....just like when Jaire was drafted. Use the draft capital correctly.
One thing that's reassuring, unlike Ted, Gutenschnitzel appears more then willing to use FA to fill holes. And not 4th tier FA's who are afterthoughts 2 months into FA, he looks like he's willing to make a splash early. Depending on cuts, the Packers should be really flush with cap space and cash. They could fill some key holes with proven players.
There's some good ones on that list. Tyrann Mathieu would also look good at safety here.
I don't know that Gutekunst will dive in earlier than Thompson did. He made a splash with Graham, but that hasn't worked out. That result could effect his approach in the future.

There's going to be a team that assembles a world class OL and breaks bread on defenses predicated to stopping a passing league. And that team will set records on time of possession while neutering edge rushing demons hell bent on getting upfield.
What I'm trying to say is this. If Lombardi was coaching today he'd look at the NFL landscape and he'd build another seven blocks of granite and road grade the entire league underground while letting his QB collect a few of his namesake trophies.

Great post. Just my stupid opinion but I think that philosophy will be back sooner than we think. Many seem to think that air raid type of offenses will take over but I bet that within a few years you will see it swing back to more traditional pro style offenses. Now I am not saying it will be a Wing T formation with 3 yards and a cloud of dust but more of a balanced style of offense to keep the teams who use the spread/read option off the field.
The greatest coaches in NFL history never chased the solution to a problem like everyone else. They simply created a better problem.

People thought due to the Bennett fiasco, and Gute being a disciple of Ted, he'd shy away from making a big signing in FA. He didn't. He signed Graham. He also surprised many when he made a bid to go get Kyle Fuller and signed him to an offer sheet. Yes, the Bears matched, but that's something Ted would have likely never even attempted. Then there's the Mo Wilkerson signing too.
The Packers may be as much as 50 million under the cap in 2019 depending on who's released. Cobb, Perry, Matthews, yes Graham who's in reality a one year deal, Bulaga and even Crosby. All big money contracts or guys making a lot at their positions that could be cut.
The NFL requires teams to spend I believe 89% of their cap on players. There are no Packer 2019 free agents that are priority signings. None. Sad because that says a lot about Ted's recent drafts.
JMO, but I see Gutey filling at least 2 of their holes with week one FA signings.
Jimmy Graham is on pace for 60 catches, 700 yards, and 3 TDs. We'd all like him to be more off an All-Pro level in the passing game, but it's unfair to call him a bust. He's overpaid - not a bust. We're paying him about 10 million a year - he should probably be about half that.
He was always a terrible blocker, so anyone who expected anything different there had never really watched him play before.
Itâs not Grahamâs fault GB has no idea how to use tight ends.
Graham has been a lazy pile this year. But GB is a TE wasteland.

I agree that a dominant OL makes everything work smoother, but what you're describing you want is exactly what Dallas has done and it's not translated into real success. That's not to say OL shouldn't be a priority, but it's not THE priority. Every SB winner from the last 10 years has featured a franchise QB and a dominant defense. Invest in the defense, find 4 other Jaire Alexanders and we will win a SB.
There needs to be two OL picks in this draft. Mid rounder, great, but if it doesn't happen in FA it needs to happen in the draft. There isn't even decent depth on this team.
