Moore didn't pan out. The jury is still out on MVS, and ESB lost a season...not a good-looking draft, so far.

On Packers.com, there's a list of the top 10 plays from the Packers, this past season. There are two plays shown with MVS scoring TDs. One on a catch near the LOS which he ran a long ways for a TD and another where Rodgers threaded the ball to him for another TD. That's 20% of this tape's Top Ten plays. I think MVS is staying put in GB. Rodgers also seemed to like ESB. Let's see how he fares, this off season and in camp, before we give him the boot. He might replace GMO.

I think MVS will have every chance to make the roster next year.  Not sure if his confidence was shot or if there were health reasons, but he'll get every chance to make plays next pre-season.  He's definitely the speed guy GB needs to stretch the field.

No idea what to say about ESB.  Sure there were a few nice catches, but a few nice catches are a dime a dozen.  Maybe he is a year 3 dynamo, at least I hope so.  He's really big, seems to run good routes, so no point in slamming the door shut, but I can't see how you can count on him being a difference maker.

Gmo can go.  Every throw his way made me nervous.

I thing GB needs to pick a WR in one of the first three picks.

I'm 100% confident that Gute will attempt to address the WR situation.    That said, it doesn't make sense to walk away from MVS just yet.   He has experience in the offense and is cheap.    Unless we go on a serious FA bender at WR, MVS makes the team as a #5, maybe #4.

Adams
FA or Draft
Lazard
MVS
Open / EQ

We would have to add 3 WR's to eliminate both EQ and MVS.    MVS, having experience, is much more valuable than a UDFA with promise.    We are a super bowl contending team, we need backups who can step in immediately and help win a game.

When has the shotgun approach to a draft position actually worked for the team?

In '05, four db's were drafted, one of whom was Nick Collins. The other three: Marviel Underwood, Michael Hawkins, and Kurt Campbell.

Nick was awesome. The other three? Wasted picks. Maybe Underwood was a good special-teams player.

In 1999, Ron Wolf's well-known shotgun draft was ok, at best. Four players were drafted:

1) Antuan Edwards

2) Fred Vinson

3) Mike McKenzie

7) Chris Akins

The 2014 draft is the closest analogy to a successful shotgun draft at WR, netting us Davante Adams, Jared Abbrederis and Jeff Janis.

2006, we landed Greg Jennings, but the other two players? Cory Rodgers, and Will Blackmon.

2000? Horrible. Anthony Lucas, Joey Jamison, and Charles Lee.

The point I'd like to make is this: let's make sure we're doing everything we can to scout and evaluate properly, rather than simply rolling the dice and hoping we hit on a few guys. By overlooking other positions, you could argue it set the team back numerous times.

If we don’t look and find a DL in FA, I would not be surprised if we pick up a DL in the first three picks. I don’t have a name yet but I think that the team needs one. M. Adams has been a bust and everyone else besides Clark is JAG.

I'm hearing there are some good OT prospects in RD1 too.  Gute could go in that direction.

I am totally confident Gute will be extremely aggressive with getting weapons on offense.  I wouldn't be shocked at all if he is just as aggressive with offensive talent this free agency period like he did go all in on the defense last off season.

If he thinks the receivers are deep enough in the draft I wouldn't be surprised if he went defense again in free agency.

Where’s all this cap space gonna come from if he’s gonna be that aggressive?

the more i see TE and how long the development is, TE is not on my radar for the draft, its DLine, ILB, OT, or WR for the premium picks, take a flyer later on.  I look at how long it takes a TE to get going, even Hock, my gawd...i believe in what we have, if 87 can stay out of the training room, and bob tonyan can get better with 89 there, I think that's ok...

How about this guy ?????

Tyler Biadasz*, C, Wisconsin
Height: 6-3. Weight: 316.
Projected 40 Time: 5.20.
Projected Round (2020): 1-3

I like him, but definitely not in the first round.

Let's see how guys do at the Combine and pro days...we'll have a much better idea where the players are at. A good center can be had later on.

I took BPA in the first round for sure.  Safety isn't a dire need but GB can find a spot for Delpit.  Delpit, Reagor, Dye, Hodgins, Bryant and Strnad are all explosive athletes.  Bredeson can be an early starter inside.

  • Grant Delpit, S

  • Jalen Reagor, WR

  • Troy Dye, LB

  • Ben Bredeson, OG

  • Isaiah Hodgins, WR

  • Myles Bryant, CB

  • Justin Strnad, LB

  • Raequan Williams, DL

  •

    Tremayne Anchrum, OT

We're not taking a safety in round one. That's one of the least of our worries.

Now, if that safety has the potential to become a Brian Urlacher in the NFL, then, yes, I'm ok with that. There's a classic example of a college safety becoming a game changer, especially at linebacker. That's what the Packers need right now.

Problem is, everyone else would like that kind of player, too.

I think it's going to be pretty interesting what happens with both Linsley and Taylor.  You have the possibility of Buluga being gone so guys like Turner or even Block-It Man may be candidates for RT.  Maybe Lucas Patrick is worth two shits but I'm done believing in the UDFA diamond in the rough crap.  You jettison Linsley and Taylor you better be picking up at least one oline in FA and drafting another at minimum.

I'm softening on my disdain for Linsley given he did improve vs the Whiners in NFCC, but they need to draft his replacement. Not a great year for OC in the draft...it's Biadasz and then everyone else...not sure Packers are going to spend a 2nd or 3rd rounder on him which is where he projects...especially when Patrick has proven he can do the job well enough and Jenkins played OC in college as an emergency option.

Getting Boo-lagers replacement is a must. Gotta stop fucking around with the Spriggs and Kyle Murphy type OT picks. Gotta hit on a guy this draft.

Honestly, don't know why so many people shit on Turner. Was he Steve Hutchinson? No, but he's a fuck ton better than guys like Lane Taylor and the rest of the murderer's row this club has dealt with at OG since Sitton and Lang left.

Can’t see risking the stability of the O-line by moving so many pieces. You’re describing potentially changing 3 out of 5 positions with those moves. (C, G, RT)

Too many positions in need of repair (ILB, DE, WR, RT, TE, etc...) to start messing too much with the O-line. Lot less money to spend on FA than last year too.
