I’m not a believer in Micah Parsons Packmeister, so I wouldn’t. He’s really good at things, but I think he’s going to get chewed up in the middle in the NFL. He’s not Devin White, I think I saw a comparison somewhere to Isaiah Simmons, which I like, who just had a pretty average season for AZ. I think Zaven Collins and Nick Bolton will end up being the best LBs from this class, actually I think the kid from Kentucky or the kid from West Virginia will be the best values overall from this class because they will go R2-4 and make someone very happy. Bolton is looking more like a trade down candidate or even a trade up in R2 and Collins looks like a pretty good value at 29. People need to be prepared for Gute to pass on BOTH though, Blake Martinez is looking more correct in his assessment that this team does not value ILB. Joe Barry’s hiring doesn’t change that IMO.

I thought Staley's scheme emphasized LB across the board?   Gunt apparently doesn't value DT's either.

Rams top 3 ILBs were mid-rounders to UDFA's. Staley's scheme, from what I've read, is back to front. He emphasizes and starts with coverage first and then front 7 to support the coverage. He's a Fangio disciple and the only 2 times a team with Fangio as HC or DC have taken an ILB before Day 3 are the Bears taking Roquan Smith in R1 (no brainer pick) and the 49ers taking Chris Borland in R3. Beyond that it's all Day 3 LBs or free agents.

Barry has been in the league a long time, mostly with Tampa 2 teams, and I think I've cited this before, but a team with Barry as DC or LB coach has only taken an ILB before Day 3 like 2 times in 20 years. It's not a premium position anymore IRT the draft...you look at the 10 best ILBs in the NFL right now and exactly zero were drafted in R1.

DJ on nfl network had the c from alabama, that seems like a gute pick.

He's an absolute bear of man. Looks like a perfect prospect except he's seemingly hurt all the time.

In five college football seasons, Dickerson suffered four season-ending injuries. He tore his ACL in 2016, missed nine games in 2017, and was forced to redshirt by an ankle injury in 2018. Then, of course, he tore his ACL again at the tail end of the 2020 season.

Great prospect, but a big risk at 29.

Thanks, Digger...I would be thrilled with Collins at 29.

Jabril Cox is another Zaven-like athlete...there are plenty of LB that can run and cover ground this year. There were last year too, but Gunt chose Kamal Martin who had a history of knee injuries.  He's shown some promise, but given how low the bar is, I'm not ready to crown his ass.

Cox is a very good prospect. He, Jamin Davis, or Nick Bolton in round two would make a good addition...would most likely have to trade up to get any of those guys, though.

Another LB who had a very good pro day is Baron Browning, from Ohio State. Maybe he's there at the end of the 2nd round.

My latest mock from TDN...this was a tough one. Lots of good players available at 29...could have gone in a number of directions.

29. Christian Barmore IDL

62. Jevon Holland S Oregon

92. Benjamin St-Juste CB Minnesota

135. Walker Little OT Stanford

142. Chuba Hubbard RB Oklahoma State

173. Malcolm Koonce EDGE Buffalo

178. Jaelon Darden WR North Texas

214. Anthony Hines III LB Texas A&M

220. Tay Gowan CB UCF

256. Jacob Harris WR UCF

Chuba Hubbard needs to be drafted  for his name alone. I can hear John Madden now. " Chuba Hubbard is well he is well a good football player. And good football players have names like Chuba Hubbard. "

Using only the top  28 prospects out of the 50 listed here, on The Draft Network's Big Board, whom do you see Gute moving up the board for, if he saw someone he really liked, and felt it would be worth moving up the board to get him? Personally, I think Rashawn Slater(C and G) is one of those versatile players, on the OL, that would attract Gute's attention. Maybe Patrick Surtain at CB or  Christian Darrisaw at OT? Zaven Collins, (LB), may fall to the Packers at 29. Whaddya think? Where is the value for the Packers?

Using this list, from 25-35, I'd rank wanting the Packers to take them in this order:

1. Zaven Collins - Duh

2. Greg Newsome - Only because Collins is #1

3. Gregory Rousseau - A(nother) freakish pass rusher? Heck yes!

4. T. Marshall Jr - Maybe worth a first even with the depth on board.

5. Jenkins/Radunz/Eichenberg - If all three there, I'd be cool with a trade back a bit and nab whomever is left, especially with Mayfield as a "safety net".

I'd be pretty meh on the rest at #29. In fact I'd rather they grab Ossai, Onwuzurike, Mayfield, Holland or Oweh over the others.

Something tells me Oweh ends up as a Raider, though.

Using the TDN List and only taking guys they rank at the Packers pick # or after I'd probably go

29. CB Greg Newsome -  62. IDL Milton Williams - 92. OLB Patrick Johnson - 135. WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette - 142. OT Jaylon Moore - 173. S Tariq Thompson 178. CB Tay Gowan 214. IDL Malik Herring 220. OT Cole Van Lanen 256. IDL Isaiahh Loudermilk

Between 92 and 135  there are a ton of guys I could see them really liking.  No ILB upgrade, Malik Herring is an injury stash for 2021.

100% he's going to move up for Newsome. I'm pegging 21-23 (Colts, Titans, Jets). Newsome is too much of a Gutey prospect...20 years old, high character, high energy, Elite RAS. Newsome won't get past the Colts at 21, so if Gutey wants him he's gotta go get him.

If he's not going to get past the Colts, then he probably won't be a Packer. That would mean they need to get to #19 and Washington, which probably means #29, #62 and #214 for #19 and #124, and that's only if Washington doesn't charge a premium because someone they really want is at #19, like a QB, one of the top receivers or offensive tackles.

No more like Dix, Randall, Rollins, King,  Jones and Jackson. There is no excuse for that garbage and has set this team back big time!

How about Ahmad Carrol(sp)?  Who was so bad the other db’s wives called him “highway 26” because the other team could always move downfield on him.  Then there were the db’s we selected who had “bad wheels “?  Over the last 20 years we’ve wasted a bunch of picks on bad db’s.

How about Joey Thomas in the same draft class?  The 2004 draft class looks really, really bad.  Scott Wells the only one who ever looked good.  I don't even remember if BJ Sander ever won the punter job.
