It would make more sense to extend Davante Adams than Jaire Alexander if your intent is to free up more cap space this year.
As for Z, I would look to extend him as well.
If weβre going all in then I would re-sign Snacks, sign Dalvin Tomlinson, cut Lowry, keep Preston, sign Curtis Samuel, sign either Brian Poole or Mike Hilton. Find the money wherever you can, Rodgers dead cap is pretty low in β23 so push a bunch of money there while you still have Love on a rookie deal.
Is Snacks even going to play? Sounds like he was ready to retire last year.
I think Snacks said he was amenable to a return but it wouldnβt be free or something to that extent. Canβt remember where I saw it thought.

Addition by subtraction.
If the Packers want a veteran/slot WR alongside Adams not named Funchess, they should no problems getting one in FA:

and also saving about $30 Million worth of Kirk Cousins' blind side. McNeil is next to be cut, there.
Brady at it again saving his team millions in cap hits to make another run at the Super Bowl.
On 1, 2, 3......his wife is worth....
FB.
I think the whole Kirksey episode really hurt Pettine's standing with the organization. He had to have at least given his approval for acquiring Kirksey since he was most familiar with him. In addition, Pettine tabbed him to play "Mike" LBer, which he had never played. It became obvious that Kirksey was not a "quick enough thinker" to effectively play Mike. Pettine should have known this, they trusted his judgement and it was proved to be faulty.

Not a bad gig for being maybe a tick above average LB
geez that's a lot of coin for that caliber of player...texans, wow. hope that those incentive clauses include injury...

That's certainly more money than I thought Kirksey would get. Pettine was never MLF's guy and I always got the impression he was living on borrowed time with the organization anyway.
The defense called on the Hail Mary pass was a fireable offense.
Just saying.

The was no hail mary, anyone who thinks that was is crazy

Agreed. I know what YA is saying in terms of meaning a play call that should have a low percentage of being successful for a TD over the top. However, the throw Brady made is one any decent NFL QB could make and most decent college QBs for the matter. He wasn't open by a stop or two, he was open by about 5 yards.
Plenty of blame to go around with the coaching staff on that play, but Kevin King has to be smarter than that. Simply can't let the receiver get behind you and he did.

Exactly. That's what I'm trying to say. It was a joke... NO SAFETY help, FEW in the end zone and fool king somehow thinking they'd throw a short pass even though they were out of time outs....
Sounds like Preston is restructuring and is staying. Iβm glad honestly. Having 3 pass rushers is great, there are plenty of good developmental guys to add (one of the Pitt DEs would be ππΌ).
Is O'Brien still calling the shots in Houston?

Theyre good at that, remember the deal they made to get Trubisky! π€£π€£π€£

It wasn't a hail mary because of the call that was made on defense. A proper defensive call would have made that at best a 50/50 jump ball. More or less a hail mary.
Iβd sign Casey Hayward in 5 seconds to a 2 year deal. But thatβs just me.
Hayward will be 32 in September, will want at least $6 million, told reporter he wants to play a couple more years.
Maybe 1 year on the cheap.
THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aaron Jones has reached agreement with the Packers on a 4-year deal worth $48 million, including a $13 million signing bonus, @DrewJRosenhaus tells ESPN. βAaron would have signed for more in free agency but wanted to stay in Green Bay,β Rosenhaus said about Jones re-signing with the Packers.
Wooooooo! Huge re-signing!
There goes the βwe miss Jonesβ excuse.
