do the games start tomorrow? Geez, give the GM a chance to figure out what he needs. I am sure Gutey has Brandon on speed dial just in case he runs into a problem. Damn millineals.
Alan Lazard had a fine TC last year, looked really good right before his core injury. Racked up 150 yards receiving against a pretty good NO defense before the hernia.
With that type of injury, it almost always takes a full calendar year to recover from it, especially at this position. So his PFF ranking doesn't mean jack shit. He wasn't close to 100 percent after returning.
I still think the ceiling on him and MVS has yet to be realized. They are still ascending players and can get even better in 2021.
If the Packers grab a Fuller or another proven vet, fine. But I tend to believe Rob D's sources that the Packers are going to mainly focus on getting a veteran CB, a Jared Valdeer type at OT and some defensive help in FA. Much more in line with their needs.
Let's get one thing straight.
50 Irish Drunks in a Bar always sucks.
The #Packers have submitted a $3.384 million restricted free agent tender to TE Robert Tonyan, which sets the compensation at a 2nd-round pick if the team were not to match an offer, a source said. It pretty much guarantees Tonyan will be back and could lead to a long-term deal.

@Tschmack posted:Get them over the hump beating Tampa? JFC. You are assuming that Tampa will be back. Thatâs not certain. The Niners didnât make it back, yet everyone freaked out about how GB was playing for 2nd place in the NFC.
Why didn't the 9ers make it back?
Simple solution. Replace "Tampa" or "9ers" with "any playoff caliber team with a playoff caliber defense".
$3.4M is a fucking bargain for Tonyan...he's every bit the player Kittle is.
@Chongo posted:$3.4M is a fucking bargain for Tonyan...he's every bit the player Kittle is.
I don't know if he's as good as Kittle, but I think he's easily as good as Hunter Henry and he just got 3 years/37 million with 25 million guaranteed from New England.
@GB-Brandon posted:Yeah, i get it! PFF is right when it gives one of our favorite players a good rating but wrong when it proves our GM is a fucking a dumb ass!!
They could of easily got Davis. They chose to overpay the RB the position and keep the transition process going with Jordan Love open and not give Rodgers the extension freeing up more $. Everyone knows we need a better option then Lazard.
Thatâs whatâs going on here. Lets call it what it is!
Pedmoesque Post!
If winning the offseason was the objective than Minnesota would have a half a dozen championships by now.
Teams that go crazy in free agency usually do it for one of two reasons. Maybe three reasons:
1) They didnât draft well
2) They need to energize the fanbase
3) They suck
The Packers have always tried reward their own players first and foremost. Aaron Jones was their big free agent signing IMO.
I think they will make a move or two to add a DL or CB and maybe WR but it wonât be a âbreak the bankâ type move.
As for gunning for TB, well, they should be in the mix but every season is different and a fair amount of teams that win a title take a step backward the following year.
Nice plant story by the Big Trubowski's agent
It's a "right of first refusal" tender for Chandon Sullivan, a source said. Worth $2.133M. Packers wouldn't get any compensation if they decided not to match an offer, should one come.
â Rob Demovsky (@RobDemovsky) March 16, 2021
Wait, what? Sullivan got signed to an offer sheet? Why??
Not a ton of great options I could see in GB honestly. Gabe Jackson or David Andrews are that mid-tier UFA that might end up being a really good value. Nick Martin might be another value option.
NFL Network's @TomPelissero says to expect the Packers to address their offensive line after the first wave of free agency ends. That could mean a veteran replacement for Corey Linsley or a veteran elsewhere that allows Elgton Jenkins or Lucas Patrick to take over at the pivot.

The number 1 thing to get done this offseason should of been getting a Rodgers extension done freeing up 24-26 million dollars. Period!!
All this other stuff with WR and the DL and corner would of then fallen in place.
Instead Gute has pushed dead $ back on JAGS and a Tackle with a torn ACL while overpaying a RB and destroying everything.
People saying we canât or couldnât do this or that are just defending this Fraudulent Front Office! They chose Jordan Love! Make no mistake about it! They can run around and award everyone else but they canât award the LEAGUE MVP and give him the support he deserves?
What a âCLOWN SHOWâ!!!!

Watch Kyle Shannahan resurrect his career like Ryan Tannehil. Would be hilarious to see the Bears 1) give up the farm for Russell Wilson (who can't win at Lambeau) 2) still suck and 3) watch Trubisky lead the 49ers deep into the playoffs and play really well. I'm almost rooting for the kid for that alone.

I don't think Shailene will want to live in GB. Does anyone know what the urban foraging scene in GB is like?

Really good C just got released in a stunning move from the Raiders:
Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Olson recently called center Rodney Hudson a very valuable piece of the Raidersâ offense. But apparently his value was something less than what was left of his contract.
Instead of keeping Hudson, the Raiders have released him, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The move is a big surprise, both because Hudson is a good player and because the move doesnât actually help the Raidersâ cap situation, as they take on a slightly bigger dead cap hit than keeping Hudson would have cost. Itâs possible the Raiders will designate Hudson a post-June 1 release, in which case about half of his dead cap hit will move to their 2022 cap.
The Raiders have now said goodbye to four of their five offensive line starters from 2020, with Hudson joining guards Richie Incognito and Gabe Jackson in getting cut. The Raiders also traded tackle Trent Brown to New England.
Rebuilding the offensive line is going to be a major offseason task for coach Jon Gruden and General Manager Mike Mayock.
Hudson is a three-time Pro Bowler who has spent the last six years with the Raiders. Heâll have plenty of suitors in free agency.
Until Belicheat wins a Super Bowl without Brady then you need to STFU.
The so called âgeniusâ hasnât developed anyone on that team and they have to sign all these FAs because the Patriots suck.

Ok......
It's Ricky "Bobby" syndrome. If you ain't first, you're last!!
Also, I love the return of talk of "tape". Haven't had "that" since the glory days "of" Trophies.
And finally, "would of"... "could of"... "should of"...
Don't know why "I'm randomly" quoting things and "using of" instead of have but why "not"?
Underrated Packer who IMO didn't get always get the credit/hype other corner's got. Just went about his business. Well deserved Tramon.

Bill Belichick turns 69 this year. He's not really on a long-term plan anymore.
The Patriots generally didn't win Super Bowls by handing out big, long-term contracts to glamourous free agents. The one exception might be Gilmore. Generally, Belichick went after guys that were former stars that appeared to be on a downward trend and he got them on relatively low-risk contracts. He also didn't hesitate to sign or draft guys that were character risks or considered malcontents in their previous stops or in college (Randy Moss, Corey Dillon, and Aaron Hernandez come to mind). He signed Revis for 1 year and 12 million after he didn't look that good in Tampa Bay. He got guys like Rodney Harrison, Junior Seau, etc. as veteran ring chasers.
Belichick might be the best defensive coach in NFL history and, for many years, probably benefited from some borderline ethical stuff in terms of stealing play calls. But I'd argue he was extraordinarily successful for 3 reasons, only one of which was due to playcalling skill.
1. He's inarguably one of the best defensive coaches in NFL history going back to when he was Parcells' DC with the Giants.
2. He had a superstar QB that played on contracts well below market value. This was in large part to Gisele Bunchen being worth almost half a billion dollars on her own.
3. Belichick was incredibly ruthless in terms of making decisions on players. Like I said above, Aaron Hernandez was known to be a world-class problem at Florida, but Belichick thought he could control him and went ahead and drafted him. He would jettison guys like Richard Seymour, Ty Law, Jamie Collins, and Lawyer Milloy much earlier than most teams would. Revis was gone after a year. Some of those guys are Hall of Famers and were still good when he traded them or let them walk. But they weren't worth the salary cap charges and Belichick thought it was better to move on a year early than wait and get stuck. Remember when Donald Driver stuck around for at least an extra year as a Packer when he was washed up? AJ Hawk for way too long? None of that stuff happens in New England, ever. Even Tom Brady was left to leave.
This recent spending spree is not typical Belichick. It's more like a soon-to-be 70 year-old guy knowing he's only got a couple of years left and deciding to go all-in and not caring about the mess the Patriots will be trying to clean up in about 4-5 years.

At least buy him dinner first.
Iâve had this weird feeling the Packers will try hard to get Curtis Samuel of the available receivers. I know heâs smaller than they seem to like but heâs versatile and a willing run blocker. I know it seems off when looking at what we know, but heâs likely not going to get the big offer like a Golladay.
