He may catch it with his hands, he may catch it with his butt cheeks, but he will always do it in an entertaining fashion.
Found on the internet: STs emphasis=get Velus Jones! Over 3000 kickoff return yards without a fumble, two kickoff returns for TDs, a 15 yard return average on punts and a 1.46 10 yard split that was faster than Ruggs. Not just a STs weapon but also a manufactured touches weapon.
@Chongo posted:Not a massive fan of Jahan Dotson...but I'd be OK with the pick. Not as good as Olave, but would fit a need. Wouldn't mind Packers passing on WR with this pick and going after a Watson at 28...because he fills a two more specific needs. Don't care that he is an FCS kid. 17 played at Fresno State...you can find studs many places.
Kenyon Green is a massive reach at 28 for the Packers..they compare him to Elgton Jenkins...the dude's relative athletic score is 5.9...Elgton's was 9.34 one of the highest all time for an interior OL. He also played every spot at on the OL at MSU which is what vaulted him so high. Green has only played G, and isn't that athletic...for that reason I don't think they'd take him in the 5th round much less the 1st.
McBride would be good...closest thing measurables-wise as George Kittle this year. Like him exponentially more than Likely from Coastal Carolina...that kid has bust written all over him. Not sure the Packers put that much value on TE to take him in R2. There are some super athletic dudes the Packers can get at TE later in the draft...Virginia's Jelani Woods has an RAS of 10, Dan Bellinger from San Diego State has an RAS of 9.66...he will fall because his idiot OC didn't know how to use him properly...Packers could get him in R5-7 and get a steal. Also a big fan of Kolar from Iowa State.
Drake Jackson would be a good pick in that spot...but I think the Packers may take Mafe from Minnesota before. Or Karlaftis from Purdue who will work his ass off.
I don't know nuthin' about nuthin' but YAYA's article makes this claim: "This past season Green started games at left tackle, right tackle, left guard and right guard."

I really like him; one of the greatest 50-50 ball receivers Iβve ever seen. His size is elite, uses it to benefit his skill set/play. His route running is good.
He doesnβt pull away from defenders, separation does concern me, that is why he is number 5 for me. Lacks true line explosion and power. Yards after catch are not great, doesnβt break tackles nor break away from defensive back.
Agree. If you're not that fast to begin with, you better be running with power and breaking tackles. Pass.
@Packmeister posted:Granted...it's all smoke & mirrors right now, but I like this...plus the other receivers on the list...
So like Amari except not a bust?
Too soon to say Amari is a bust. Was he over-drafted? Maybe...

I may have confused him with someone else on positions...but the claims of his athleticism stand. He is nowhere near EJ.

Geez, I hope he can be of some value. Off to about as poor of a start as possible. Normally, I'm optimistic, but I just didn't see anything to indicate he's going to be a starter in this league. We'll see, fingers crossed.

Agreed. Learning to play WR in the NFL can be a learning curve for some guys, but he showed nothing there. More importantly, he had a chance to flash at least some playmaking skill on returns. However, he showed no elusiveness or burst on kick returns and, by the end of the year, everyone was just happy if he could fair catch a kick instead of letting it roll 20 yards or fumbling.
I agree...I was hoping for more, last year, but it's too soon to give up on him...would I light a fire? You bet...
Deebo Samuel was considered by some a bust after his first year in the league. Really took till year 3 for Tae to earn some respect.
I'm not ready to give up on Amari yet.
Just for some more shiggles, here's Amari's RAS Score...kinda' like Devante's...only Rodgers is shorter...lol
If the Packers were looking for a receiver where they drafted Rodgers, they could have selected: Nico Collins - 4 picks later. Or.... Amon-Ra St. Brown, who went to the Lions 23 picks later. He had a very good rookie season:
GP GS Rec Tgt Yds Avg Lng TD Att Yds Avg Lng TD Fum Lost
17 9 90 119 912 10.1 37 5 7 61 8.7 26 1 0 0

Nope. Davante showed all his playmaking abilities as a rookie. Turned an ankle early in season 2 and struggled with it while continuing to play on it forced into the WR#1 role with Jordy on IR, resulting in inconsistency and what appeared to be a loss of earlier abilities.
Amari hasn't shown any of what Adams showed as a rookie. But based on how he looked in college, I'm not giving up on him yet either.
This is from Wikipedia, on Amari Rodgers...
"Rodgers is the son of football coach Tee Martin. He is close friends with Packers teammate Randall Cobb, whom he met while Cobb was playing for Martin at the University of Kentucky."
And, on another note...how do you guys feel about Troy Andersen at LB, and where would you draft him?

Amari hasn't had the opportunities with the Offense that Davante had, either. Amari was in on only a few plays from scrimmage while most of his rookie year was spent on STs.
I don't trust anybody who recieved a Stone Cold Stunner.

I know logically theyβre completely different players, but Raimann gives me Tony Moll nightmares.
I do one mock draft each day on thedraftnetwork.com and today's came back pretty perfect:
R1 Pick 22 - Treylon Burks, WR
R1 Pick 28 - Boye Mafe, Edge
R2 Pick 54 - Bernhard Raimann, OT
R2 Pick 59 - Christian Harris, ILB
R3 Pick 90 - Phidarian Mathis, IDL
Don't see round 2 and 3 falling this way but I really like Burks and Mafe in the first and both should be there when the Packers pick.
EDIT: I semi-agree on the Raimann issues but at 54, I think he's worth it. Just not in the first.

I think Aaron Rodgers has changed too, not really giving the rookies the same chance that he used to. I mean was Amari so bad that they couldn't have figured out 4-5 plays that worked for him and gotten him involved? Maybe but this offense seriously lacked pass catchers so hard to believe they couldn't have figured out something.
Amari showed nothing even when he got opportunities. He obviously also showed nothing in practices. That's not Rodgers' fault.

Wouldn't he have had to earn those opportunities? Wild guess but I'm thinking Adams did as a rookie.

Did you watch all the practices? Was he given opportunities with the first team?
Nonsense! I've been told he's a bust!
These are guys I see GB targeting. I'm pegging trade up into the teens possibly with either of the 1st round picks and also possibly a trade down from 28 if no early targets fall. McDuffie makes sense to fill the Slot role and possibly insurance in case things fall through with Jaire. Karlaftis makes a ton of sense as he fits the mold really well to replace Preston. Tyler Smith would be a guy groomed to play RT, he's a freak. Pickens would probably be a complementary guy to a #1 deep threat like Lockett if they made a big move.
AVG RANKING | PLAYER | SCHOOL | YEAR | POS
Teens/22 | 12 | Trent McDuffie | Washington | Soph | CB |
13 | Drake London | USC | Jr | WR
15 | Derek Stingley Jr. | Louisiana State | Jr | CB
16 | George Karlaftis | Purdue | Jr | EDGE
28 | 30 | Tyler Smith | Tulsa | Soph | OL |
44 | Christian Harris | Alabama | Jr | LB
47 | Drake Jackson | Southern California | Jr | EDGE
30's | 50 | Kaiir Elam | Florida | Jr | CB |
57 | George Pickens | Georgia | Jr | WR |

It is always difficult to evaluate rookies because each circumstance is different; that being said on plays where it is all about athletic ability (punt returns, kick returns etc ) I did not see much! Time will tell but I agree it is a crucial season for A. Rogers. One thing I wonder if he beefed up a little for the pro-game and it took away a bit of quickness? He seemed heavy footed for a quick guy. Maybe a lingering injury - couldn't figure out the offense IDK but he just didn't have it! I know you guys remember Antonio Freeman when he came in - he had a bounce to him that leaped out and so far Rogers hasn't shown that. He was widely compared to Cobb but for sure until he broke his leg Cobb was a great inside receiver and quick as a Thai pick-pocket something that Amari hasn't demonstrated to date!
Rodgers really seemed to lack confidence on the field. Disappointing rookie year but premature to go any further than that.
I have been thinking about why AmRodgers seemed disappointing. Maybe he needed practice time with #12? Aaron avoided much of the camp and skipped a lot of practices when he broke his toe. #12 is a step up from college and Jordan Love. Amari recently tweeted some kinda positive vibe about getting in shape but I think that the guy was simply overwhelmed by the NFL. His ST experience must have been a disaster and left some mental scars. I hope he is over it.

So the coaching staff is utterly incompetent then?
I just didn't see any elusiveness or quickness in his game. Even if a player is raw you see flashes. K. Hill on the other hand was a guy who caught your eye, even as a late round pick.
Digger.... I always like your posts. That said, a trade up for a CB or even selecting one in the 1st round would be a mistake, IMO. If they make a move, it's for a WR...maybe an OT or an Edge. Plenty of good corners can be found later in the draft. McCollum, Taylor, Britt, etc. Not to mention, safety seems to be a bigger priority than corner. Who do we really have behind Amos and Savage?
Personally, I hope they stand pat at 22, and maybe trade down from 28, unless there's a guy there they really want.
@Herschel posted:So the coaching staff is utterly incompetent then?
How about the fact that Rodgers acquired his buddy Cobb and Cobb had to learn the offense?
The special teams coach we was incompetent and Rogers most likely spent a lot of time there.
Here's a weird mock draft: two D studs in first round.

Kind of agree there. All the stuff Amari was supposed to do went to AR's BFF Cobb.
