These are guys I see GB targeting. I'm pegging trade up into the teens possibly with either of the 1st round picks and also possibly a trade down from 28 if no early targets fall. McDuffie makes sense to fill the Slot role and possibly insurance in case things fall through with Jaire. Karlaftis makes a ton of sense as he fits the mold really well to replace Preston. Tyler Smith would be a guy groomed to play RT, he's a freak. Pickens would probably be a complementary guy to a #1 deep threat like Lockett if they made a big move.

Digger.... I always like your posts. That said, a trade up for a CB or even selecting one in the 1st round would be a mistake, IMO. If they make a move, it's for a WR...maybe an OT or an Edge. Plenty of good corners can be found later in the draft. McCollum, Taylor, Britt, etc. Not to mention, safety seems to be a bigger priority than corner. Who do we really have behind Amos and Savage?

Personally, I hope they stand pat at 22, and maybe trade down from 28, unless there's a guy there they really want.

I’ll admit that pure Corners like Stingley and Elam aren’t super likely because they lack flexibility, but a guy like McDuffie is going to play Nickel, Star, FS, boundary, etc. They’re either going to pay Jaire so much money that he has to travel with the other team’s #1 or they will let things play out and deal him before the deadline to recoup some value. Either way there will be gaps that pure boundary CBs like Douglas and Stokes can’t fill.

I can buy that...thanks. I understand, now, why there is a lot of buzz about us drafting Daxton Hill. What are your thoughts on him?

Hill is one of the 5 best defensive players in the draft IMO and I think he’s going to β€œrise” on draft day, similar to Jaire, even though the NFL has probably been hot on him all along. Fantastic instincts, great speed and athleticism, position flexibility being a FS, Star, NB, corner, etc. He’s certainly a guy I could see GB moving up for even though the media has him late in the 20’s right now.

No thanks. I hate Karlaftis for Green Bay. Dude will be a stud DE but he looks awkward AF in space. He makes Nick Perry and Aaron Kampman look like ballerinas in the flat.

I think they would look at him as a replacement for Preston. He’s young with physical upside in a very similar way to Rashan Gary, lots of ways to improve deficiencies before they’re even 25. He’s a guy you take and worry about position fit later, you want a head hunter.

How's this for a deep draft? I used Jameson Williams as trade bait for a desperate Falcons team and got three picks for #22...

And, yes...I took a punter in the 5th round...but this guy's no ordinary punter...I traded up in the 7th to pick Jones as a return man with some WR/gadget upside. Personally, I don't think he'll last 'til the 7th round in this draft, but who knows? You could put him there in the 5th round instead of the punter...lol  Araiza's someone to consider, though.

We need something out of Amari. He’s gotta make a big jump in year 2.

I blame his piss poor PR performance on DrayMo...he got zero coaching.

Bistecca will coach him up.

People think ST is fucking easy...there is an art to it and it takes a special person to coach it well. I know an excellent ST coach in the college ranks and I've talked to him about it PR/KR at length. He has always said there are two things going on in a return...the blocking and return guy. The return guy has to just read and react. He can't be worrying about whether or not the block is going to be there...and lots of times, the block may not be there when he sees it, but that's not to say the block won't be there when it's supposed to be...and the truly great returners don't flinch when they are not supposed to, but know when to make an adjustment on the fly.

We may not be #1 in ST in the league, but we will be damn better than dead last...because Bistecca knows how ST works.

Now that is just one aspect Amari must bring to the table...but it's also time for him to show he can replace Cobb...because chances are Cobb ain't making it an entire season healthy.

Yup...scheme means a lot in this offense. That's why I have hope for Amari. This isn't the "just find a way to get open" offense of McVince.

True. Yet for some reason the offense took a step back last year. Maybe other teams figured something out or #12 was locked onto Adams. This year without him we need receivers who can get open and catch. I did not see a lot of separation from Amari. Maybe that will change after a year of coaching. I like the aforementioned receivers that others have listed in the draft. I would not be surprised if they surpass Amari in production. Cobb is at the end of his production value so, down the road, Amari might be the guy to take on that role. Yet we need perimeter WR’s this year. There are some good ones listed above from other posters in this forum.
