@TomPelissero: The #Packers are parting ways with special teams coordinator Shawn Mennenga, per source.

@RobDemovsky: Can confirm @TomPelissero's report that the Packers are letting special teams coordinator Shawn Mennenga go. No word yet on Mike Pettine, although it's worth noting that he had come to the end of his contract.

YES!!!! Please get the best one now, not the cheapest one.

So when the Pack hired MLF in 2019, Pettine still had 2 years remaining on the 3-year deal he got when MM hired him in 2018 -- after MM finally disposed of Dom.

Gee, I wonder if the front office encouraged MLF to keep Pettine on as DC rather than having to pay Pettine for 2 more years for doing nothing ... at the same time the front office was refusing to pay Darren Rizzi whom MLF had wanted to hire as his STs coach instead of the now dearly departed Mennenga.

God the ramifications of not moving on from MM at the same time Ted was finally shit-canned in 2017 just keep keep biting this organization in the arse.

This cheap ass bullshit has to stop. Losing the 2 NFCC cost us way more money that we saved by not paying these coaches. Way more!

The fact that it's taking this long to get word on Pettine probably means they are trying to work out a new deal, unfortunately. He played out his contract and no doubt wants more moola. I'd just send him to the curb and let MLF pick his own guy. Pettine wasn't that hot this year. He had good games but could never make changes in-game. The way he left King on his own against TB without any adjustments was just inexcusable.

Maybe or maybe not.  I bet that they are taking this week to evaluate each coach and have meetings about their responsibilities and how they performed.

I honestly would be shocked if they kept him but we also don't know how ABM and MLF get along they may work well together.  Anyhow, I would love to be a fly on the wall at 1265 this week.

Mengina was the sacrificial lamb...I'll be floored if they axe him AND Bald Man

Menenga was no lamb.  He sucked, he was fired.  There's no cover for Pettine.

As much as people have issues with Pettine, by the numbers he was much more successful than The Wizard.  Low bar but true.

Everybody feeling good about stats over eyeball?

ok, that's great news.  I was listening to the G&G report from the fan, ryan wood said that its counter intuitive to fire pettine since you 'counted' on him to save the game...if you get rid of him it means you made the wrong call or some crap like that, i disagree, i think that he put some faith in the d to help and they let him down...so, ya, this is making me happy.  now i hope he replaces with a someone more in line with his system, someone innovative, energy...etc.

Apparently the players like Pettine. Maybe MLF doesn’t want to upset “the leadership council.”

AJ Hawk loved him some Dom Capers and vice verse and we know what that led to.

If the players LIKE the coach and positive results follow, great.

If the players DISLIKE or at least do NOT LIKE the coach and positive results, also great.
