On his monthly Packers.com column, Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy announced that he will retire on July, 13th 2025.
(Murphy turns 70 that day, the team has a bylaw that requires members of the board to retire at 70 years of age)

Thank God.  Is there anything we can do to get the bonehead to retire sooner?

Someone buy Henry a 3 year Advent calendar he can start working on now.

Not sure if it belongs here, but sad news about Jaylon Ramsey.  Fentanyl is an evil drug, and its effects are wreaking havoc on millions of families around the world.  It’sa world-wide health issue at this point, just as, or more important, than Covid.  Our issues at the border need to stop being politicized and acted upon here.  Go after the makers of this drug work as much gusto as possible, which includes securing our borders.  Get caught dealing this shit?  Automatic life sentence without parole.

The nfl players Union has an opportunity here.  Back a year long suspension for the abuse of women or give Watson a slap on the wrist.  For too long, the NFL has excused violence and degradation of women and children, choosing instead to focus on PED’s and drugs.  PED’s are extremely important to crack down on, marijuana, meh.  Hard drugs, yes.  The NFL needs to re-evaluate it’s priorities.  Let ‘em smoke weed if they want, crack down on everything else, especially child abuse and DV.

About 5 years too late

We could all try leaping in the air at the same time and move the earth closer to the sun so we’re in a smaller orbit so the years go by faster😏

I thought it was a good match.
SissyPants blew it.

1. Because we share a border with China? Of course they're just a major producer but do have a very lightly regulated pharma industry.

2. Dealers aren't the issue. They're disposable in the chain.

3. It's a progression in many ways from the Oxy scam by Purdue, which started right here. While the Sacklers are walking free we don't have much standing to go after anyone else.

Sorry for your loss, Yoop, and congrats on the new kitten.

Oh, not a kitten the Mrs. and I are too old to chase a kitten around, we adopted a two year old from the esky animal shelter. It seems like everyone looking for a cat wants a kitten and we always like to give an adult a chance. Thank you for you kind words 👍🏼

My son got his ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) license about 10 weeks ago and just a couple of days ago he flew his first 3 day trip as a First Officer. He loved it and I couldn't be prouder!

Fedya isn’t in the mood for a movie tonight.

About two months ago, we had problems with our well, resulting in among other things getting a new pump and tank.  Dad, being a retired electrician, set out to wire the new circuit and thinking he was on the bottom step of the ladder when he was really on the second step from the bottom, fell off, fracturing his hip.

So I've been running around like crazy the last seven weeks or so, partly playing nurse to Dad (who thankfully is making a shockingly quick recovery) and partly trying to get the house ready to put on the market so we can get Dad off the top of the hill and into a smaller house more suitable for him.  One owner and fifty years of accumulating junk is not a good thing in this case.

Well, I've been living with him since Mom was diagnosed with dementia.  (She's been dead seven years, and the house is in a trust since she died.)

Dad was lucky it happened when it did, on a Saturday morning around 9:45.  I was a few minutes away from taking the dog for a walk out on the mountain biking trails, and had I been out, Dad would have been on the floor in the laundry room for at least an hour.  Instead, I heard a loud crash and a bunch of moaning, which was a pretty good sign something was wrong.

It doesn't help that my two sisters would like dad moved out yesterday if not sooner, and that with the supply-chain issues caused by lockdowns, things like getting the driveway re-graded just can't get done overnight.

The good news is that the house, even if it is falling apart, is in a desirable location, as it really does have seclusion (on top of a hill at the end of a dead-end road) while being ten minutes away from shopping and the Thruway.  We should (knock on wood) be able to sell the house for more than buying a new one and do a cash purchase on the new one.  And I'll be able to join the 21st century with reliable high-speed internet.

So sorry you’re dealing with all of that Fedya.    You’re a great son.  Now let me know what you’re going to do with the 50 year house stuff.  We’re 22 years of stuff, (42 with marriage stuff), and getting into the mode of selling and I have no idea how to even start.

My Dad is 84 & living on his own.  My Mom is in a nursing home.  Mrs. Finn & I went for a visit & Dad announced that he had signed up to move into assisted living.  He was born in this house, & for other than 4 years in the USAF, he's lived here all his life (his parents & 1 of my great Uncles too).  The house is 4 stories (unfinished basement & attic, 2 floors of living space), the garage is 2 car, 2 stories with a sauna on the back half, & there are 3 out buildings (a workshop, a wood barn, & a storage building).  Stuff EVERYWHERE.  We brought in a company to hold a "living estate sale"; they said take what you want & we'll sell the rest (including things like canned goods, jars of screws, firearms, old stuff, etc.).  We were given strict instructions - DO NOT THROW AWAY ANYTHING FROM THE ATTIC!!  Guess they often find unknown treasures that people have forgotten about.  Anyway, I know all about accumulated junk.

My brother & his wife are there now.  They're interviewing realtors & trying to set a selling price.  Also doing the final cleanout for the sale (once the company comes in, anything else take out is subject to their commission).

Good luck with your Dad!
