Played well in his one outing and would seem to be a PS candidate.

Ben Braden released. From potential starter to off the team in a moment's notice.
QB Kurt Benkert also reportedly cut
Plus UFDA S Christian Uphoff
Patriots have released defensive lineman Montravius Adams, per source.

The #Patriots have released Cam Newton, source said.

Silverstein is live blogging the cuts as he receives them.
No one is claiming Benkert. And if they do it will not matter anyway.
I don't get the Braden thing. That's really surprising.
Browns 3rd string QB Lauletta led the league in yards during the preseason. If they need a PS QB there are more than a few Benkert's around.

I'd like to say I'm surprised, but I'm not.
Packers release CB Kabion Ento.
add LB, Kamal Martin
Thanks for the updates.
We landed on the moon!?

They cut him again? That seems unnecessary.
Packers release RB Patrick Taylor and WR Reggie Begelton. Both would appear to be strong candidates for the PS.

Versatility is the value with backups & Braden proved Saturday that he can't play tackle. With 4 players ahead of him at guard (Jenkins, Newman, Patrick, & Runyan) he is the odd man out
So who's the surprise cut? There's always one every year.
OL Cole Van Lanen
No huge surprise yet but Braden and Taylor are both guys that had a good shot of making the final roster.
No news on ESB yet. Wonder if they might keep him long enough to put on IR designated to return.
If you go big picture, the most surprising cuts happened early. Martin and Funchess.
Bahk is staying on the PUP so he's out for 6 games.
At least he would return for the meat of the schedule.
Oh well...
@RapSheet: The #Packers are keeping All-Pro LT David Bakhtiari (knee) on the PUP list into the season, source said, meaning heâll miss the first six weeks. Tough blow for Green Bay, but this will allow perhaps the gameâs best LT the chance to fully heal.
Elgton Jenkins has looked really good at LT. Not like the Packers are plugging Don Barclay in there.....
Yeah, I'm not too worried about those 6 weeks. If there is anything to be concerned about it's the likelihood of having two rookies starting on the OL. And that might have happened even with a healthy Bahk.
#Packers released kicker JJ Molson, per source. He kicked the crap out of the ball in camp, survived two rounds of cuts, even with Mason Crosby entrenched atop the depth chart. The team really likes him. Might be a practice squad candidate
The final straw was Mason's versatility at punter
One of the writers said the organization really liked Molson and speculated he might be PS bound.
Packers releasing WR ESB. Had his moments where he flashed but just couldn't stay on the field.
You definitely have to have a kicker (probably a punter, too) on the PS. If something happened and Mason had a positive test result you need to be able to make a quick roster move.
In the first six weeks Elgton Jenkins could possibly face off against Cam Jordan, Marcus Davenport, Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, Kahlil Mack .
Going to see what he is made of.
I kind of feel like we already know the answer to that. I need to see what Newman and Myers are made of.
I thought special teams needed a guy like Uphoff.
@Goldie posted:Benkert??? Really?? Darn it, will he be back before some other team could claim him??? *keeping fingers crossed*. I actually thought he had a better grasp of the offense than âĪïļ didâĶ.. JMHO.
He probably did. Benkert is a 26 year old veteran of 4 training camps. Love was going through his first pre-season games. Guys like Benkert "literally" grow on trees.

Thank that shitty Canadian field, it essentially ended his career.

Exactly!! I think Jenkins may be better suited for tackle any ways and could be Turner's replacement when his contract is up.
