Wouldn't be the worst situation.

Third, maybe (but likely not) Policy and us fans playing the long game will remember that, prior to MLF's arrival in GB, Gutey was Ted's right hand boy when so many high picks were squandered (between 2012-2017) on the likes of Nick Perry, Jerel Worthy, Datone Jones, HaHa Clinton-Dix, Khyri Thornton, Damarious Randall, Quinten Rollins, Kevin King, and Josh Jones. Seems like the inability to draft defensive talent is a Packer FRONT OFFICE issue not a MLF issue.
Indeed, some folks taking a close look at Gutey's drafting record on the defensive side of the ball might conclude that he not only has not exactly shined in that role but he is principally to blame for the ongoing defensive failures rather than the head coach.
When we look back, we can see drafting mistakes; that's not different from any other team; in fact, I think GB is better than most in drafting. Remember that 21 teams passed on Rodgers, some of them twice. Remember that teams also took Manziel, Trey Lance, Isiah Simmons, Troy Williamson, and plenty of other busts.
When has a GM ever been fired before the HC? Not saying it doesn't happen, but in GB the coach takes the heat long before anyone in the front office. It is like a snowball going downhill: players don't win, coach takes heat; players don't win, coach takes the heat, fires assistant coaches; players don't win, GM fires coach; players don't win, GM starts taking heat, fires coach. Only if all goes to hell on the field as well as in drafting do they then look at the GM. Gute is doing as good a job right now as almost any team's GM.
It's been a very long time since GB was an NFL hellhole, and I certainly hope it's going to be an even longer time before it happens again, but snowballs don't roll uphill.
Maybe Saleh can be a defensive draft consultant. We sure need someone to push Gutey towards the right players.
Like I said before ....seems like "we" may need some new DL scouts....and it may be hastened by the fact the Pack is now running a 4-3 instead of 3-4
I think the WR & OL scouts are pretty good! Look at how many diamonds in the rough the Pack found for the O-Line such as Walker & Zach Tom & Elgton. Pretty impressive.
If only Milt knew more about D. Maybe he could persuade one of his former coworkers to join him.
If "fans" or media want to create an (artificial) hot seat for MLF when that need doesn't exist, they need to look no further than Chicago to see what happens when teams make stupid decisions.
Additional examples can be seen in Cleveland, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, and a few more places around the league.
