Demovsky posted a depth chart on twitter from yesterday.
Interesting observations.
6 Packer first round picks of the 11 starters on defense - Alexander, Stokes, Gary, Savage, Clark, J. Reed, Q. Walker. The other 5 starters (P. Smith, Amos, D. Campbell, and J. Reed) carry 42 million in cap charges.
On offense, the only Packer first round pick is Rodgers. Lazard and Nihman were UDFAs as was Tonyan (who you assume will eventually be TE#1). Myers was a 2nd rounder. Runyan (6th), Hanson (6th), and Newman (4th) were all mid to late round picks. Cobb, Watkins, and M. Lewis are all "economy-level FAs." Jones was a 5th but is at 6 million a year now. With Bakhtiari and Jenkins out, outside of Rodgers the entire cap charge this year for the other 9 current offensive starters is roughly 20 million TOTAL.
Invest in QB, RB, and defense (and left tackle) and try to get by with inexpensive guys on the rest of the offense.
