+ A win is always positive

+ Goldie will be in a tizzy all week about whether to bring Aaron Rodgers back.

- Dom

- Some awful decisions, such as going for it instead of taking the field goal down 14-7.

- They barely beat Cleveland.

+ Randall, on the INT, completely took Gordon out of the play, which is where Kizer was going. DR has really come on since walking off the field earlier in the year.

- Dom's zone defense. When they were in man, Randall and Hawkins/House were doing their job. Kizer had most of his success versus the sh!t soft zone. Too many youngin's getting confused. Just let the athletes play.

+ Williams - powerful runner, very good in the passing game. He got the touches when they needed to win the game.

- Jones - shifty, but does not look 100% yet. (slight +, they'll be an awesome combo in the future)

+ Given MM some credit. He won an NFL game with a QB that only once threw the ball past 10 yards downfield (and then only when a guy was 25 yards clear).

+ Thank you to the Browns for playing a guy 25 yards off the LOS that never throws the ball beyond 8 yards past the LOS

+ Thank you to the Browns for dropping a pass that would have ended the game, and for a QB that decided to panic and throw off his back foot under pressure in an OT game.

+ Damarious Randall was great in coverage against Gordon after the first series.

- They let Kizer get comfortable and look like an actual NFL QB.

- It would be nice if Hundley could remember critical play calls.

-Hundley's agent will use this as a way to get big money from someone in a year. Although maybe that is a + for the Packers when they get a 7th round comp pick.

Dude, you gotta pace yourself.  Three shots at Hundley in one post.  I rather more enjoy you interspersing them incessantly during game posts.

+ Win .....nothing better than winning

+ style points don't matter

+ get to see AR next week  ......He showed more emotion this week than he shows most games......He will be ready

+Randall He has been really good as of late....

+clay  ditto

+ WRs   made yards after the catch consistently

+Hundley - Took what they gave him....some see this as a negative   Could have done what Kizor and did and throw it up for grabs ...twice

- not much left of the secondry

+ Hundley making some nice plays so hopefully some other team will trade draft picks for him

+ Maybe we get to see AR12 a few more times this season

- No matter how great AR12 can be, the defense under DOM is an achilles heal

- CM3 INT setting up win might be confused as Dom knowing WTF he is doing.

+ Hundley.  He's actually been okay as a backup.  Not good, but not awful either.

- I give us about a 1% chance of winning the Super Bowl with this defense.  With anyone but Aaron Rodgers as QB I'd give them a 0% chance, but because of my respect for Rodgers, I have to give them some chance.

+ Hundley doesn't panic

Willams bulldozer

Clay & Randall making a couple of plays

Davis got un- Zooked

Brennen and Speilman no matter what Packy says

Queenies lose. I don't care how it effect the Pack. Any day the Queens lose it's a good day!

Hundley blowing that 4th down play

+ A win and not embarrassed or a future trivia answer.

Hundley played well but I think he messed up that 4th down on their 10.

Davante

Lack of penalties

I didn’t hear Spriggs name mentioned after intros.

TT’s choice of drafting 3 RB’s looking better.  Williams is a pounder!

- Team didn’t look enthused for most of the game.

We had to come back from 14 and win in OT against a winless team.

We are iffy at best to gain one yard rushing when we need it.

House injury.  Any updates?

Screens to Cobb.

Downfield pass plays.

Sorry Dude.  I think you give too much credit. I still think he's not even an average backup .

He's making strides. I'm going to give him credit for cutting down on the ugly sacks and turnovers.  Got it done with nice footwork and short passes today, without much support from the ground game. He made must-have plays in crunch time. Still can't hit the deep balls (unless the guy is uncovered), and vision is still bad at times.

+ Found a fun new game when traveling / working. I was in a meeting and finally had time to check the score. Instead of checking the score though, I thought I’d read the two most recent pages in the game thread and guess the score.

Today that was pages 5 & 6 of the game thread. I guessed 28 - 7 Cleveland. Primarily based on the general temperature of the posts and one that read, “Kizer 11-19 for 191 yards and 3 TDS” and Cleveland piling up the rush yards.

It was 21-7. Pages 5 & 6 makes for some great reading though. Lot of folks tuned out and got to yard work. Lots of firing requests. The 2017 season ended on pages 5 & 6 today.

1st qtr, incompletion to Adams, Browns guy gets an after play penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct for pushing/shoving and headbutt to Adams. BUT, thought I saw Adams with both arms shove the Official during that incident. Yet, Adams not called for contact with an official? Or did my eyes deceive me?

Could he be fined for that?

Regardless the Browns made a few egregious penalties that helped the Pack stay in it.

I wrote "This might be MM's Waterloo."

Gave myself a convenient out.....

Somebody unnamed did post "Game over."----I love it when that happens and the Packers win.

Win

I think we have 2 really really solid options at RB for a while here.

Adams has turned into a great player

He plays like garbage for 3+ quarters, but that's 2 weeks in a row that Hundley looks more than serviceable for a few late drives. The question is where is that the rest of the game...

-

I think 10-6 could miss playoffs

I think 9-7 will definitely miss playoffs

I think Dom Capers will continue to be here forever and it's maddening

PLUS

Hundley played well in the 4th Q

Williams is a player and MM needs to give the ball to him more and sprinkle in Jones too

Matthews knocked Kiser's arm and thus the INT

Randall coming on...to think he was almost cut two month ago.

Davis finally got a big return with no penalties

Adams

Negatives

Hundley...he is HORRID when he has too much time to think.  He watches the pocket collapse rather than his pass receivers getting open.  Missed seeing several WRs cuz he drops his head in the pocket.  Takes too much time to decide on the throw and then throws badly.  Double clutches too which led to several incompletions and some grabs that could have gained more YAC.

The Defense was porous again.  Sorry Dom, you need to retire.

The team was flat and getting beat on both sides of the ball.

Not sure that the Packers ever considered cutting him, but X4 thru his punk ass out in the rain and ran him over with the bus a few times for good measure.

Hard to believe after reading that critique that he was able to complete 35 passes

Never underestimate the power of x4.

Now if only that would work on the rest of the defense, and on Hundley.

Assuming 12 is back this week, TT may have actual trade bait for Hundley in the Spring

You are now clinically insane.  If they could get the 5th rounder they used to draft him I would be good with that.

Good question for McCarthy. Not that I think he has the answer, but you know, he kind of should.

The fact that the Browns decided to play a safety 30 yards off the LOS on the drive right after they went up 21-7 was insane. Hundley didn't throw a pass more than 8 yards beyond the LOS (except for the blown coverage TD) the whole game, they'd shut down the Packers offense except for the first drive, and then they decide to go prevent which allowed the Packers to get back into the game. Obviously, the fact they needed 25 yard and 45 yard (actually about 20 yards to kick a FG) drives to tie and win helped a lot. But give Hundley credit, he made the throws he had to and give MM credit for calling plays that maximized Hundley's chances of success.

Hundley plays well when he can get to the LOS and make a pre-snap read and then throw a quick pass. The back shoulder throw to Adams was a very decisive and strong throw. The 4th down throw for the conversion to Cobb on the first drive was also a great throw.

As soon as he has to move onto a second read he struggles.

The first drive is more scripted and he's practiced many of the plays all week. He knows where the ball should go.

The 4th quarter drives are often in hurry up with multiple WRs and more of a spread. The reads are probably easier and it's often step back and throw quick to the first read.

I was surprised there was no zone read today.

Packer fan at sports bar today: Even if Rodgers comes back this week, there is no way this team beats Carolina.

Me: You underestimate the power of Aaron Rodgers.

+ They didn't give up, especially Clay.

+ Davante Adams. He's special

+ TD pass to tie game - that was all Aaron Rodgers but I give Hundley credit for doing as he was told. Go back & look at Rodgers talking to Hundley before the play.

+ Special Teams (particularly Davis) made a play when they had to have it

+ #21 played better

- I have about 100 negatives running thru my head but am having trouble typing them all out.

- Bought a shot of Don Julio Anjeo when Cleveland won toss in OT. Maybe this is a +? Thought for sure GB offense would never touch the ball.

- Should've known all along Domfence "got this" when Clay made the play.

- Domfence. ..."maddening" "exasperating" & probably 35 more words I don't feel like typing. Some would be censored anyway.

- MM for trying to tell us "QB room is fine." When we all know it ain't.

- Is it just me? Or does a healthy Rodgers put up about 45 on Cleveland today masking the multitude of coaching problems on this team?

- Vikings "win" (even tho they lost) because we all know they will do whatever it takes to not help Green Bay. I rooted for Carolina all day today. I don't GAF. Maybe this is a + too.

- How can Cleveland rush 3 & still get pressure on the QB?

A dropped pass and an inexplicable throw by Kizer reverses a loss against the worst team in football. It’s no cause for celebration- but it is a cause for relief.

I think the thing that has been the most helpful with Hundley the last few weeks was the avoidance of the turnover. He is what he is- inaccurate, slow to read, and a good athlete. He got us to Rodgers’ return with a 3-4 record. If the defense was competent against Pittsburgh it could have been 4-3.

SO the consequence of that differential is they no longer control their own destiny. They can win out and still not get in at 10-6. Most came into the season with the mind that 11-5 should win the division. One game less and now they could be out. That what’s frustrating... the NFC was there for the taking this year. But bad defense and a dirty hit on Rodgers and they’re hoping for help.

If there’s one possibility that I love the most, it’s the Vikings have to beat the Bears in week 17 and don’t... and the Packers take what was rightfully theirs to begin with. And with Wentz out the Rams might be the team to beat... whoda think that?
