This was Abby at practice a few minutes ago... not participating, but on the sidelines.

Another draft pick, the popular Jared Abbrederis, is also out today. http://t.co/AqWnsKU7IE

EDIT: Why is Abbrederis even out there, with receiver gloves on and cleats, if he has a torn ACL? Just asking.

Dang that sucks. That creates an interesting situation at PR because they seemed to have him pegged for that role. It was him, Hyde, Cobb, and Tramon working exclusively as PR. They tried some other guys but no one stood out. I fear they want to make Myles White into a PR and he seemed to really struggle fielding punts.

As far as my comments about Gilette go,  CBs run the speed the WR is going not the other way around. If Gillette beat a CB it's because there was a really good throw and he made a good catch. He doesn't separate from CBs. I hate it because he runs hard, he catches the ball well, he's a good receiver just not skilled enough.

F*CK!

Packers offense now working on passing their way out of their own 1-yard line.

Proving once again. You can lead a Lacy to McCarthy, but you can't make him use him.

The good news? It's impossible to have 3rd and 1 from your own 1. So it's progress.

I'm really trying to maintain enthusiasm. But everything I've read, seen at TC, and heard from those who've attended TC have all said Eddie Lacy is fixing to unleash a great big painful world of hurt on NFL defenses this year. There's no indecision that was present early last year. He's going after people. And now he's catching balls out of the backfield to the point he's referring to himself as "Moss" Lacy.

A more decisive Lacy playing 16 games with Aaron Rodgers behind an improved line.

The mind reels thinking about how good this might be.

Hochuli on WR/DB contact: “The offense and the defense have equal rights to the ball. It doesn’t make any difference who’s offense and who’s defense in those situations. So officials are just judging who had the better position.”

MM (he's pissy): On Abby "he has a knee". He hasn't talked to Pepper or McKenzie and doesn't know more specifics. Then questioned again whether it's a potential ACL and MM snapped at the reporter and said something to the effect of "I just told you I don't know more specifics, I thought I just told you that"....

I'll be surprised if it's not an ACL.

He was asked 3 different ways and would not say. RT @Bartz118: @RobDemovsky Ask MM if it is a MCL...

@WesHod
MM on red zone: Install phase, there's some new wrinkles that go in. I think we're running the ball well. Working on action game

MM on red-zone offense: I think we're running the ball very well. ... The drop-back stuff, the timing always takes a little longer.

MM: Very impressed with Richard Rodgers. He's been very consistent. He's been asked to do a lot and done well

On TEs: It's up to the tight ends (how reps work). We've always been multiple, so the ability to play as many TEs is our plan.

@WesHod
MM: I think all of our specialists have been consistent. They've hit projection targets

On Crosby: I think all of our specialists have been consistent. All the targets have been hit so far.

MM: As far as running plays and looking for matchups, Scott Tolzien just needs to get the competitive reps. Work ethic is off the charts

“The offense and the defense have equal rights to the ball. It doesn’t make any difference who’s offense and who’s defense "

1. True

2. False

Copy of Lance Easley's official NFL Ref quiz. He chose poorly.

MM on Lyerla being rusty: I'd say yes. That's fair. The timing and hand-eye coordination, he's been away from it for a while.

@WesHod
MM on Lyerla: I think he's in excellent shape. Needs reps. I'm sure time off didn't help him

MM: Davante Adams had a good day today. He can be strong at the point as far as catching the football. Janis hopefully coming back soon

McCarthy on potential of more def. flags: Rules haven't changed. But more of an emphasis. Need to play w good technique -- we know the rules

@RobDemovsky
MM on Tretter bouncing back: It's important not to overreact to things that don't go well in training camp. Natural progression for him.

@TomSilverstein
It didn't come through in this transcription, but McCarthy was very testy about questions regarding Abbrederis.

@WesHod
MM on Tretter: I think you're seeing the natural progression of him. Things he was struggling with, he's gotten better on

@TomSilverstein
And that's it for McCarthy. Don't forget to check back for updates on the blog and stories on the Packers page.

MM has said this a couple times now:

" I don't meet with the docs until later in the afternoon"

Its a convenient way for him to avoid talking about injuries at morning pressers and I don't blame them one bit. All teams keep injury stuff on the down low as much and as long as possible. But I am also certain that MM is/was informed of everything going on with his team in real time.

Your freind may be looking for a new job soon.

Re: Abbrederis. RT : Member's post on the TimesFour message board said a friend on Packers training staff said Abby had a torn ACL.

Things move pretty fast with this internet thing.

Abbrederis is wearing a sleeve on his right knee. Saw him jog off to the sideline. Otherwise, just watching or playing catch with Janis.

No way they let him do that with a torn ACL. That report is bogus.

Who wants to wager a guess as to Wilde's username on X4?
