The Pitch Perfect 2 trailer appeared on YouTube on Thursday, and included is a scene with linebacker Clay Matthews, Bakhtiari and fellow Pitch Perfect-obsessed offensive linemen T.J. Lang, Don Barclay and Josh Sitton during a competition. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers' younger brother, Jordan, is also in the group.
The film opens May 15. The Packers appear in the trailer around the 1-minute mark.
It's well known Pitch Perfect II was planned well before Pitch Perfect was released. It just couldn't be be released until the first one was released. Otherwise they'd be reversed, which wouldn't be good long term planning.

Exactly. Clay has known about his cameo since his sophomore year at USC. I have no idea when Sitton and Lang were brought into the circle of trust.

They couldn't put Clay in the original until they had Sitton and Lang on board as they are the true voices of the group. Bakhtiari's development also factored into making this possible. Director Jason Moore has been sitting on this scheme but was hesitant to release Clay in PP2. It was the Producers, who want a return on their investment this year, that went to Moore and told him it is time.
