Thanks YA, that makes more sense. I doubt he's going to be back this season, but I wonder, since they haven't seen the MRI/report if they're holding out hope he could be available at some point in the playoffs? I'm not saying the Packers would rush him back, but if it turns out to be not as serious as suspected and he could be 100% by January then it's worth the wait.
That's not right Goldie. The agent's quotes are after the announcement that he was out for the year. The first sentence in the article is he was out for the year, and the agent is talking about what caused them to say that.

They did two tests and found nothing, then the MRI shows "something" which is unspecified (McCarthy called it a "problem"), and based on that the Carolina MD and the team doctor recommended he sit out the year. That is what the agent is saying: they know it is not a compressed spine or a broken neck, but exactly what it is has not been either revealed or determined.

Right now everyone is waiting on the specialist's report.

It's a forlorn hope, but my hope is the decision to pull him from duty "for the year" was out of not just an abundance of caution, but an overabundance of caution, and the specialist will come in with a different prognosis.
