+ A win

- Lots to list but where was that intensity the last month??

- Flags, turnovers, head scratching offensive and defensive play calls, nothing has changed much except result this week

- I'm predicting 4 straight losses starting next week

Screenshot_20231105-125015

Could easily be 6 straight losses

I mentioned it in the game thread and got poo poo'd. Trading a popular player tends to lite a fire under the remaining players asses. Same thing happens a lot in everyday life. A co-worker gets the boot and it wakes everybody up. Did Rasul deserve to get traded by his play or actions? No. But some times you gotta do what you gotta do.

++  went to a Model Train show, Got back home and got outdour winter prep almost completed whilst listening to Wayne and Larry.

+++ Bares lost

++++ Seachickens got whomped!

- Fumbles

- -  Vikings won

- - -  I didn't see what crazy mismatched outfit Moose wore. Does he still do that?

He got traded because the Bills called and offered a high draft pick. He wasn't being actively shopped as confirmed by Gutey.

Correct. But when something like that happens, others tend to respond to it

++ Maybe an unpopular take, but MLF simplified things and called a game for longer, sustained drives rather than the go-for-broke we've seen for many weeks; it allowed the D to stay fresher, chewed up clock, and didn't overstretch Love. Bad QB, but the secondary played well; Jaire had an excellent game, but I don't think he's still right; Valentine and Johnson played well. Musgrave and Love on the triple option of 90 degrees one way, 180 the other, and 90 back to the middle: the timing and execution was excellent on that. It's gotta be a confidence booster to finally win again.

-- The penalties, the fumbles, the fact that Love still can't anticipate when WRs are going to be open or throw them open. His being late and slightly off-target on the throw to Watson allowed the defender to land on Watson; Love's lateness and throwing too short cost a TD for Watson. (Imagine Mahomes throwing to Watson...)

++ A win is a win is a win. Bears lose.

-- Effin' Vikings win.

Jones touched the ball more in the first half today than he has this entire season. I wonder why that was?

Why did we see Sean Rhyan in today? Something a lot of us have been calling for, since September. Why did we see Wallace out at LT (to start) today. He came back in later. Think the trade of Rasul affected more than just the players, the coaches took notice too.

Why does it take someone being threatened with their job before they respond? You're supposed to be a professional!

We won 20-3. Continuing the number 1 problem of GB offense — offensive penalties. Today there was an improvement but still not good enough as 5 of GB 7 first offensive series had penalties. Those 5 series with penalties ended with — Punt, Punt, Punt, Missed Field Goal, Fumble.

However, GB had 7 series with No Penalties. On those 7 series they had TD, fumble, FG, Punt, FG, TD, and a run out the clock.

Conclusion, GB offense works when they don't commit offensive penalties. Season totals so far. I don't count end of half or game when they arent trying to score.

82 offensive drives
40 drives have penalties for 48.7% of all drives.
6 result in scores, so GB only scores on 15% of series when there is an offensive penalty.

42 drives have no offensive penalties for 51.3% of all offensive series.
22 times GB Scores a TD or FG for 52.4% of drives with no penalties.

Conclusion: GB SCORES and moves the ball downfield when they don't commit offensive penalties. As these young players learn the game and become better disciplined as a unit, you will see this offense grow. They still are the best scoring offense in the NFL during the second half. As they mature as a team, they will improve their first-half scoring.

It's why I said a couple days ago that cleaning up the penalties should be MLF'S #1 priority moving forward.  It was and still is holding everything else back. The breakdown above is dead on.

Mahomes wouldn't be throwing to WATSON. He's always injured with an owie.

+ 391 yards of total offense

+ more diversified plays called  , 2 back sets, double fake screens on pass to Musgrave

+ Pulling Meyers on run play to the left

+ pass protection was solid

+ a lot of standouts on defense , Brooks, Wooden, Gary, Valentine, Alexander, Owens, etc.

+ Love didn't turn the ball over and had a passer rating of 115

- If Matt Stafford played today we likely would have lost

- 2 fumbles & two 4th down penalties likely cost us 10-17 pts?

- another blocking missed assignment on sack in 3rd quarter (I thought it was Runyan who doubled a man to his inside and let a free rusher go right by him on his right) that doomed a drive.

- although Love had a rating of 115, he was still inaccurate on a number of throws , and doesn't always see the field well.

A win

DL was really disruptive

Younger DBs played pretty well

Love at times looked good to decent

Jones and the running game got going

- - -

You rarely see a team win a game with as many turnovers and penalties as GB did today

Rypien is terrible.  Had Stafford played it may have been another L

Chicago, New England, Arizona and the Rams losing didn’t help draft position

The Packers next 5-6 games are all going to be tough

Paws

- Lots of kids made plays today.   Wooden, Brooks, LVN, McDuffie, Valentine, both safeties, Doubs, and Reed.   That’s the promise we were hoping to see.  They don’t beat a playoff team today, but you’re okay with the fuck ups as long as they are showing something.

- The team hasn’t quit on MLF.   After the Douglas trade, this was a rally or quit moment.  They rallied.   MM was good at that too for a long time..

Marvin Harrison Jr.

Love threw 6 incompletions. Do you expect him to go 26-26 instead of 20-26?

The offense showed if they don't shoot themselves in the foot, although they did a bit with penalties and turnovers, Than can move the ball and have positive result. They played far from a perfect game but much improved.

The defense played against a nothing offense so they looked better than the are but several players made great plays. Alexander, McDuffie, Wooten, Valentine, Brooks, and I'm sure a a few more.

A win at Lambeau Field is always a good thing! Jaire and Valentine had good days. Musgrave's TD was a thing of beauty. Our receivers were catching the ball! Our Defense played well, overall. Rhyan got to play. Brooks, a 6th Round steal, and Wooden both had a good game, too. Something to build on.

---Way too many penalties, again! The offsides calls on the offense were lousy calls, IMO. Two weeks in a row we've had "suspect" officiating. Injuries to Clark and Yosh-- hopefully they are minor. Vikings win, but who cares? Carlson misses another FG.

I just read there is a point of emphasis on QB sneaks and that is why they were called, both on JRJ but the ref said Josh on the first one so nobody knew what correction needed to be made. JRJ said he always lines up on a sneak with his helmet ahead of the rear of the ball, never knew that was a penalty. That surprised me that he didn't know that. It cost them two 1st downs on 4th down plays. That's like a turnover.

I expect him to be able to throw a deep ball with reasonable accuracy.   I expect him to hit WRs running in stride more frequently, not just windows in a zone or stick routes.

This was his best game in a month.  Good to see.

When his dad works with league on rules it makes me wonder how good their communication is.
