Didn't look bad at all. You could see Jones and Dillon running behind his blocks and gaining chunks with nice lanes to the second level. Maybe they want him to get to the second level faster? IDK. Just a few snaps and only one pass, but it's encouraging to see an OL lock onto his guy so quickly. From this video, I'd play him more and see what he does.

Ryhan was voted First Team All-Conference by Pac 12 coaches at left Tackle, so he must have talent. Some players just have a longer "adjustment period" to the NFL. I think it was in training camp when MLF was asked about him and said "he's in much better shape than last season". Likely that he did not make a good first impression as a rookie, which takes some time to erase from coaches minds. May be a kid that matured early (top 60 recruit out of HS, school record holder in shot / discuss) and didn't react well to not being instantly "good" at the highest level. Looked good in his limited snaps, can he do it for an entire game? Will the coaches pull the trigger to find out?

Mike Wahle is a good example of this. He was Jason Spriggs level bad until about this third year and then became a very solid to Pro Bowl level player for about a decade.
