He had a stroke that forced him to retire about 10 years ago.
RIP Dr. Z. Reading Z's stuff was always interesting. Agree with him or not, he had a lot of interesting things to say. Learning about his stroke and how his wife took care of him was heartbreaking. For someone like him who was so literate and obviously well-spoken, a massive stroke like his must have been soul-crushing.
