It's not whether it's 997 or 1003, it's that the other receivers making this kind of money are the following for next year (per Ben Fennell on twitter).

Adams has potential, but this is who is making the same money next year.

1. Antonio Brown 17.7 (6 1000 yard seasons - top season (136 catches, 1834 yards)

2. Larry Fitzgerald 16.9 (9 1000 yard seasons - top season (103, 1409)

3. Dez Bryant 16.5 (3 1000 yard seasons - top season (92, 1382)

4. DeAndre Hopkins 14.0 (3 1000 yard seasons - top season (111, 1521)

5. AJ Green 13.8 (6 1000 yard seasons - top season (98, 1426)

It absolutely is about 1000 yards for you, since the first thing you point out about these WRs making more is the number of 1000 yard seasons they've had.

Here's some more data for you.

TD catches last 2 years

Davante Adams - 22
Antonio Brown - 21
Larry Fitzgerald - 12
Dez Bryant - 14
DeAndre Hopkins - 17
AJ Green - 12
