Sounds like he has as good a support system off the field as he will on the field. I think that is just as important as having good coaches and veteran leaders. Some of these guys only have leaches from the old neighborhood around them and don't let them stay on track. I get the feeling that's exactly what happened to Johnny Jolly. A guy like Larry Foote, who has been a consistent player in the NFL for many years, is a really good mentor for this Perry to have I think.
