The Green Bay Packers aren't going to toss this one back, however. They'll take the Super Bowl trip just as if they really earned it, and 15 other members of the National Football Conference would be happy to trade places.

The Eagles are among those teams, and among the teams that, with a break here or there, can legitimately say it could have been them hoisting the Halas Trophy on Sunday.

If Michael Vick had thrown a touchdown instead of an interception at the end of the wild-card game against the Packers, everything changes. Prior to that, if the Bears had knocked Green Bay from the playoffs in the last game of the regular season, the postseason house of cards would have been built completely differently.

But that's not the way it played out, and the conference championship was won by a team whose great offense didn't score a point in the last 41 minutes of the game. It was won by a team whose great defense couldn't keep third-string quarterback Hanie from leading the Bears to two fourth-quarter touchdowns that kept the outcome in doubt long after it should have been decided.

Perhaps the Eagles should go back to playing the Cowboys. You remember, the team they choked against TWICE in 2009 with McNabb at QB.

Yep, Packers sure were lucky to have their second best offensive player (Finley) and 14 other guys lost for the season. Must be sad in Philly to know a 3rd string QB can throw more TD passes in a playoff game against the Packers than Mike Vick could!

Uh, does this guy forget the beatdown that Chicago put on Philly fairly late in the year? Yes, Vick had 1 TD pass near the end to close the gap, but Chicago really whipped Philly for about 55 minutes of that game.

Philly certainly has a good young team, but they were not ready for primetime this year.

Both offenses of yesterdays winning teams failed to score in the second half of their games.

I was not impressed by the second half performances either. However, the writer knows nothing about the on-field pressure going on. The helmet-to-helmet hit, etc etc. It was a Packer-Bears battle in the second half. AR's tackle of Urlacher was key too. The writer failed to note that the great start won the game and AR was brilliant, especially on the first drive.
