I was originally going to this one, but the guy providing the ticket for me backed out due to late starting time, cold weather, no Zion, and no Giannis.  I am 100% behind skipping attendance on this one even though I certainly enjoyed the Clippers game last week and the Magic game I was at on Monday.

Well, they'll have to really earn it to get this winning streak going. It will probably come down to how well they keep Ingram in check. He's a more consistent version of Jabari Parker right now. He'll put up points on a lot of people. Matthews will probably draw the main assignment.

It would be fitting if the reason the Bucks chose this game to sit their star was because of the level of disrespect that ESPN has shown the Bucks organization with the rumor mongering about Giannis leaving Milwaukee.

Giannis is the only player on the Bucks. Without him they're a 20 win team.

Uh-huh....that's what I keep hearing.

Wes Matthews with 2 straight 3's!! Yes!!

I love that Bledsoe is scoring tonight but not really at the expense of everyone else. He’s really taking to Budenholzer like Teague did at ATL, only Bledsoe is significantly more talented. Decision making not perfect, but much improved.

Interesting question. The Bucks are 22-3 and likely to be near the top of the East in about 7-8 weeks when they pick the All-Star teams. They have 29 games left until the All-Star Break and even if they went .500 in those games they'd be 37-17.  Does anyone besides Giannis make the All-Star team?

They'll be a lot better than that. If they'd go something like 20-9 in the those games and went into the break at something like 42-12 would 3 guys make it?

The two other guys with a chance are Bledsoe and Middleton.

Bledsoe is at 14/5/6 per game and shooting 31% from 3 and was all-defensive team last year.

Middleton is at 18/5/5 and shooting 40% from 3.

Brook Lopez is playing great defense but only hitting 29% from 3 and averaging just over 10 points.

Bud keeps everyone's minutes down so the per game averages are depressed for all these guys. Bledsoe is at 19/7/8 per 36 minutes and Middleton is at 23/7/8.

By the way, anyone catch that when the Bucks were leading by approaching 30 in a game where Giannis is sitting out, they cut back to the ESPN studio and showed Pacers highlights and immediately said how much the Bucks' fans miss Brogdon? That as good as things are going it would be great to have him too?

I totally did. I swear to you... I 100% believe the Bucks sitting Giannis tonight was a middle finger to ESPN who has been flat making shit up about how Giannis will leave. So ESPN got their jab in about Brogdon, lead with a baseball free agent story and a ton on the Lakers having “the best record in the NBA”. It’s all very subtle, but tonight was a pissing context on live TV...

I know it's just the Pelicans, but this is a playoff team even without Giannis. The sum is much greater than the parts. Some excellent complimentary players & everyone buying into the team concept. Really fun to watch 😁👍

As a team the Bucks are shooting 36% from 3, good for 13th in the NBA. They’re still only behind Houston in makes and attempts. The Bucks have 4 regulars shooting 39.4% or better from 3- Hill (53% ), Middleton, Matthews, and Brown. Even Giannis is shooting just shy of 32%, which is actually better than both The Lopez brothers.

In year 2 of the Budenholzer system, they’re all getting more comfortable. That’s why it looks so good to watch. They’re doing everything more on auto pilot than last year. So without Giannis, they still hammered the Pelicans.

The only concern is the loss of defensive focus that appears at times and cost them a couple wins they should have had early in the season and allowed 66 points in the second half last night. I have full confidence they all agree that they lost their way and they’ll strive to be a better defensive team going forward. They’re still the top D team in the NBA...

This team can field a number of starting caliber lineups.   That’s why it shouldn’t be a surprise if a guy like Middleton or Giannis misses time and they continue to win.   Obviously they are better with those guys playing but it’s good to know they can rest, I meant allow time to heal, for a guy like Giannis.

As I look at this team it’s crazy to think they are 22-3 and I’m not sure they are playing their best.  Korver is off almost 7% from his career 3pt average.  Lopez is only shooting 30% from 3 despite having a career % of almost 35%.

If those guys get back to their normal numbers and Giannis continues to be in the 30-35% range on his 3pt attempts I don’t see anyone beating them in a playoff series.

The way things are going in terms of chemistry, it would be difficult to justify making moves at the trade deadline to upgrade. The one thing they might have to consider is flipping that Indiana first round pick for a guy to slot into the Korver role. Korver is on the short list of best pure shooters in NBA history. He's #10 all-time in 3 point percentage and #4 all time in 3 point makes. His lifetime percentage is essentially the same as Steph Curry's (43.2 vs. 42.8).

But Korver is at 35.7% this year. Do the Bucks go into the playoffs with him in that 8-10 minute role or do they flip that pick for a guy for a role player type 3 and D guy?

I don’t see Budenholzer taking one of his guys out in favor of a rental. The chemistry of this squad is so deep, this is their squad. They don’t want anything more, no one different

Listening to the Book of Basketball podcast, Simmons talked about his talk with Isaiah Thomas. They called it “the secret”. It’s what makes teams great. Makes them champions. Allows them to stay champions and repeat.

The Bucks have a team that has all the ingredients. You can tell by how they’re kicking everyone’s ass... they’re locked in with each other.
