NFCC at Green Bay. HELL YES.

MLF - Really REALLY nicely called game. Vs a team with that kind of pass rush, you have to stick with the run and he did. The play to get Adams TD was well designed

OL - My goodness they played as well as you can possibly hoped for. Zero sacks, relatively little pressure, and did a solid job run blocking. The OL play has really been the unsung unit of the entire season. Let's keep it up.

Jones/Williams/Dillon - Ran with authority, few, if any, negative yardage plays. Yeah, the OL played great, but Jones especially really ran tough as hell.

DL - When they played 4+ man rush they did really well.

Minus

ST - it's an easy thing to bitch about and it sounds old and like armchair dorks on the internet, but my gosh, that entire unit is a tirefire. Cannot return the kicks at all, anything less than a huge return is met with a sigh of relief, and now god knows what's up with Crosby - from my "I stayed at Holiday Inn Express" analysis, he was holding it like a busted collarbone?

The Defensive Scheme - Yeah, the "force the opponent to not make any mistakes or penalties for 10+ plays" can work, especially against bad QBs, but good lord it's stressful to watch.  The 3 man rush is just not working. Maybe hold off on that until you're ready to play prevent D with 6 left in the 4th up 18?

Pos: Our O Line has been solid. Aaron Jones. Jamaal Williams. Pay them both! Gary and Clark play well, together!  We play the NFCCG in Lambeau. No turnovers.

Neg: Special teams play. Soft defensive coverage allowing the Rams to move the chains, seemingly, at will. 3 man rush not getting to Goff. Crosby getting hurt. Dropped passes and unAaron like throws.

Couple key plays I go back to...

3rd drive of the game, 2nd quarter, 2nd and 9 at Rams 46

None of the WRs were able to get open, AR went thru progressions, and then flaired it out to Aaron Jones who went for 14 and a 1st down. Watching it, I said right away to my Dad "Rodgers would have held that ball and kept looking for the HR ball last year".  Hypothetical of course, but it just reminded me of the control AR has played with this year. Just a mastery of the offense. Not a WOW play, but one that just makes your life easier as a QB.

3rd and 3 at GB 34, 8 min left in game

Quick out to MVS at the LOS or just behind. I rewound that play multiple times. I still can't believe that MVS got the 1st. Play was not well blocked, and I would guess 7 out of 10 times that play gets stopped for at most +1 yard. Just an enormous play by MVS there in a very tight situation. Mich2 called it out in game thread. REALLY huge play.

Rashan Gary - I was dead wrong about this pick. He’s becoming a great player.

Aaron Jones.   I really don’t want to pay a RB but how can you let this guy walk?  He’s special.

Negs

Defensive game plan and play calling.  I’m over Pettine.  I feel like we have the talent to be much better than we show.

Special Teams.  Pretty please don’t let special teams keep us from reaching the Super Bowl again.

Have to reach hard for the negatives:

- Hunter Bradley

- Josh "Healthy Scratch" Jackson - He's not fast, but when they play against a heavy run team with a broken-handed QB and he still can't make the active list?

Positives:

Pettine - They've seemingly been running a lot more double ILB sets (because Raven Greene is out?) , which not only puts the green dot on Barnes', but Kirksey is now rarely the "thump* linebacker where he's buried by an OG and the run defense has seemingly been a LOT better.

First phone call Guteyfishfinder made when his first free agency period opened wasn't for Zadarius and it wasn't for Preston, it was for Billy Turner.  Many questioned why and many thought he overpaid.....for all the credit  Elgton Jenkins gets for his ability to play multiple positions, Turner and his versatility has been so valuable.  He doesn't wow you, he just gets the frickin job done.  Man deserves more credit.

WTF are you looking at? Talent, talent (said in Jim Mora's voice) you want to talk about talent? How many of our defensive players would start for the Rams? I'll answer for you ; Z. Smith, Clark, Alexander, and one of our safeties. Now I know the Rams offense is not ours but .... our defense held them to 130 total yards and 6 points below their average.

++++++

ESB and Adams had a great start to the game and MVS, Lizzard and Bobby T had a great finish.

Our 3 RB are as good as it gets.

of course

OL played lights out.

Gary has really grown up.

_ _ _ _ _

Injuries. How dinged up are Dillon, Barnes, Lancaster, Crosby?

Inconsistent Defense

And of course  Special teams
