If they can learn from their mistakes in a win, all the better. This seems like the recipe suited to this team. 38/25 run/pass is a great ratio. The sustained drives gave the D a breather all night and they ended up making plays when they had to. Special teams was solid. I'm not sure wth they are seeing in Amari at this point. He seems like a ticking time bomb and that won't hold up against better teams. When this offense can set up play action like they did tonight, we see how good they *can* be.
Bottom third rush defense if they don't clean that up. 3 points in the second half.

- Giving up 180 yds. rushing to arguably the least talented offensive team in the NFL is a cause of a concern. I actually thought the Pack’s defense was shockingly poor when the Bears decided to just run the ball down after down.

Mental mistakes by AR and Myers in the second half kept the offensive production down.
Better teams await and they won't play the Bears every week.
Getting Jenkins back was huge. Yes, he was rusty, and he seemed to keep getting beat inside on pass rushes, but the right side of the line was greatly improved.
Getting Lazard back was huge. Our running game is much better with him as a blocker. And yes, he had a TD. But no matter how media tries to play it, he's not a No. 1 WR. The throw from Rodgers over the top for a TD is one a top-tier WR has to win.
A. Jones vision and burst is so special. He's a playmaker. I don't know why LaFleur keeps forgetting that.
Quay Walker is a special athlete - his play set up the 4th and goal. However, he continues to learn. I think SOME of the gashes in the run game were poor fits by him or getting stuck on blocks.
Missed tackles were huge. Under Barry, one pawsitive is that they've been pretty good with tackling - not in this game.
Preston Smith has been great. I hope that lasts throughout the season.
Still concerned about safety play.

I saw some of the same interior gashing by the CHI RB's as I did vs. SF so they have found something that works well. On the other hand, sooooo many missed tackles I had flashbacks to earlier days.
Aaron Jones just moves. The quote from Roquan about AJ running harder than AJD finally put words to what I've been seeing so far this season. Dillon needs to start bulldozing people.

+++Aaron Jones can run the ball. MLF committed to running the ball. Elgton is back. Runyan is back and our OL looked better. Watkins played well. Lazard played well and caught a pass for a TD! STs did nothing bad. Leavitt made some tackles. We beat the Bears!
----Fumbles gotta stop. Myers hiking the ball early plus getting an offsides call. Dillon fumble on poor exchange between him and Rodgers. DL getting gashed by the Bears' run game. Rodgers' sacks. Some sacks happened so quickly, he had no time to get rid of the ball. Close call on the goal line when Fields tried to punch it through on 4th down. This game was much closer than it had to be. If Fields gets that TD, they are down only 7 points after a dominant performance by the Packers. Other teams played like the Packers, on Sunday, and ended up losing their games. All the Amari Rodgers hate can stop, now.

I personally am willing to cut Watson some slack for whatever mistakes he makes early on. The guy had very little training camp and zero preseason action thanks to recovering from surgery.
People just want to jump all over him for every little thing, but this is a guy coming from a lower level of D1 competition being thrown into NFL regular season play with probably 1/4 of the practice time a rookie would typically have by now. His pure speed is tantalizing but clearly his head is spinning when he’s out there as he still has to adjust to a much higher level of competition.

+ The defense gave up 10 points. It wasn't always pretty, but there is way too much elite talent on that unit for it not to be at least well above average. I don't think that will be the difference between being an elite team and being a 9-11 win first-round playoff exit team (that will be the offense).
- Just like the last two years in the playoffs, I don't think they can get to a Super Bowl without Bakh being at least 80% of what he was. It opens up the whole offense to have a Hall of Fame-level LT out there. When the pass rushers and front 7s get better in the playoffs, the offenses start to struggle even under normal circumstances. Bakh allows you to match up 1X1 even against elite pass rushers on that side of the line. I assume they gave Nijman some help after he struggled a bit early, but that then limits the TEs from getting out in the passing game.
The Packers now really have 4 elite-level players on offense. Rodgers, A. Jones, Jenkins, and Bakh. Last week they played without 2 of them and MLFs coaching decisions limited the third (Jones) to too few touches. This week, they had 3 playing and it showed.
Great thoughts as always. Given Bahk’s situation, wouldn’t they be better served letting him rehab and practice until mid season, then activate, and get 8 games under his belt leading into the playoffs? What good is served by rushing him to play in September/October?

Agreed. But until he actually plays two games in a row, I wouldn't count on him for anything.

A 4-2 stretch gets them to 5-3 near the midpoint and in good shape for the playoffs. A good team wins those middle 4 games.
I’m not certain “rushed” is the word I’d use to describe how they’re treating Bahk. The Packers seem very deliberate, and if anything, overly cautious. They’ll play him when they know he’s ready.
I think if there weren't those fumbles the offense would have kept those drives going for points and the D wouldn't have looked as bad.
As bad as the run D was in the second half, they still held Da Bears to only 3 points.
The overall scheme of any D is to prevent points. So looking at the bigger picture, being up by enough that they only need to focus on preventing chunk plays and getting beat deep, they're going to be set up to be run on. That wasn't the issue. The missed tackles were the issue. There were guys all over those big runs but they either bounced off or had their arms run through. Hopefully that was a function of "riding the cushion" and not an issue of lacking ability. They've shown they can be a very solid tackling team so I'm guessing it's the former.
+ Amari's muff aside, best ST overall we've seen in years.
+ The ability to run the ball consistently opens up a lot more things the offense can do...opens up using guys like Big Bob, Deguara and even Big Dog in ways we have not before...Big Dog was like an extra OT a couple times last night. Dillon trucked Roquan like a 4 year old on 33's TD...there's a lot of moving parts on this offense...more so than in other years. 12 looked rusty AF last night at times...but if he knocks the rust off, and utilizes all those moving parts, he may not have the MVP stats, but this O will be deadly.
+ D Wy is a difference maker on the DL...he didn't get a ton of plays, but when he was in, he blew shit up.
+ Quay is going to be a Pro Bowl LB one day.
- 12's rust...drinks some butter, fly in Blu for rub n' tug, do what ya gotta do to salve that wound. But hurry up.
- Joe Barry is a concern...he doesn't seem to make quick adjustments. The rush yards we gave up in the 2H was jaw dropping...at one point you knew it was coming, they couldn't do shit to stop it. Work that shit out...you've got a lot of tallant. A LOT.
- Only a rookie, but Watson tripped on his own dick a couple times...then again so did Doobie...but his ability to slice though tackles like a ninja on those bubble screens made up for it.
- Yosh needs to tighten his boots up...way too much pressure getting through.
The passing game is going to take some time to round into form. But they have to get there by the second half of the season. They can win games with 33 and 28 vs the have-nots but come November, they're going to need more.

Ayahuasca TD celebration.
The 3 big unforced miscues, 2 fumbles and the mistimed snap happened in a short window, thus amplifying them. Much as the crummy D tackling plays.
I know it’s an other than that Mrs Lincoln deal but both sides rebounded and righted the ship.
The Bears are not a good football team so I’m not sure what to take away from a 27-10 game other than Jones looked awesome and Dillon was solid. Beating Chicago never gets old.
What should concern us is next week will be an absolute TB beatdown if the OL and run defense played like they did last night. Way too many pressures or sacks on Rodgers and this now two weeks in a row the D has looked suspect.
Asked Aaron Jones how many ILBs in NFL can chase down Justin Fields like Quay Walker did tonight. He thought about it a moment. Devin White came to mind. That’s the only one he could think of.

+ Mostly what everyone here touched on. The special teams didn't lose the game for us. I thought the refs called a pretty good game. Nice to see Watkins get involved. Great to see MLF quit saying he should have run the ball more and actually run the ball more. Quay's going to be a superstar - he's just getting started. The defense as a whole will get better every week.
- Oline is still hurting, but they'll get better as they gel more, Jenkins knocks the rust off and hopefully Bakh comes back. I think they should try Tom at RG instead of Newman. Newman is just ok dog.
The Bucs are looking in mid season form already. That's going to be a tough game. We'll have to be working on all cylinders to win that one.

It may say as much about how bad Jake Hanson played in Week 1 (and how bad that side of the line was against the Vikings was when he lined up next to Newman). You can hide one weak guy on an OL (especially at guard), but you can't line up two weak players next to each other and expect that you can work through it.
There's an old coaching axiom that applies to Hanson not having to play "addition by subtraction"
Fields with only 70 yards passing in a game that they trailed in for 3 quarters. Yes, Fields sucks, but some credit needs to go to the pass rush and secondary for that. Outside of the opening drive where he had time on the flea flicker, he was under pressure all night.
