Hypothetically, with MM being such a historically horrible play caller and needing to be replaced, should he hypothetically be replaced as head coach by Dom Capers (best defensive coordinator in football as I always say all the time) seeing as how Capers performance on this game should dictate such a response?

Also love seeing the low scoring game, all the scoring lately (post 1943) has been robbing the game of it's integrity.

Defense as a whole. Saw lots of good things from both Perry and Neal.

Lacy. Unfortunate that Boykin got called on the hold or he's easily over 100.

Crosby. Really hitting the ball well.

Jones. Nice game even if he lost the last TD.

Injuries again.

Offense lacks any real rhythm and left too many points on the field.

Are you insane? Capers' unit gave up a TD today. Why he wasn't sent his walking papers immediately is beyond me.

Will also add the "Lions are for real"/"Bush is their missing piece"/"This is a different Lions team" can STFU now. Bush with 44 yards rushing and a 3.4 avg.

And the Seahags just lost.

Pluses - is that a word?

Seeing some excellent pressure not coming from Clay.

Jordy deserves a sponsership by hoover.  If the ball comes his way, it's going to get sucked into his grasp.

Eddie MFIN Lacy.  I hope they can find that yard for him.

The WDUZ postgame is nice.  Gotta love Harry Sydney. http://www.thefan1075.com/

Bores lost too!

Oh, and the DEFENSE as a whole!

Negatives.

Inuries

I don't think Franklin saw the field again after his fumble.  Rook has potential, but I think they need to have him spend some time with Edgar on ball security.  It sure will be interesting to see who ends up in the middle next week.  I actually thought Hawk had a pretty decent game today.  Towards the end it started to seem that MM and the boys were finally starting to figure out how to have a running game and passing game.

Overall a helluva win, and in IMO a must win.  Good job boys. Good job.

Offensive line was good aside from the early sack (and Rodgers kinda held it too long). Had some BS penalties called on them

Lacy

Jones

Cobb

Rodgers

Nick Perry

Mike Neal

Clay Matthews (hope he's OK)

AJ Hawk (been a while since he's been a positive)

Crosby

Bears lost

Seahawks lost

Injury to Matthews (at least he ran off the field)

Injuries to Jones and Francois

Awful officiating. Jerome Boger really does seem to have a bone to pick with the Packers (must still be steamed over them cutting his son)

Passing game took too long to get cranked up

It was just a garbage TD, but I hate seeing it nonetheless

Tough to say "Lions aren't for real" while CJ is on the sideline.  He loosens everything up for Bush.

+D still with a great effort doing what they had to do.

+D not falling apart with CM in the lockerroom.

+Lacy finally getting the gears oiled.

-Francois tore his achilles.

-B. Jones with another hammy.

Thought it was a very well played football game by the packers D.  Some very very good individual performaces (Neal, Perry, Hawk).  Offense was out of sorts, chalk it up to division rivals.  Again very very good individual performaces by Lacey, Jordy and Oline.

Got some things to clean up and the injuries suck but keep heads up and big things will happen.

Still having a hard time understanding holding and PI/illegal contact/defense holding as a fan (refs seem to make it up as they go along, no consistency at all).

+'s

Perry

Neal

Burnett

Jordy

Crosby

Offense is still looking for its identity.  It's as if they can't believe they can actually run the ball.  33/180 on the ground today.  If they learn to fully trust that and incorporate it more smoothly, look out.

The production quality of the telecast was awful.  From the time there was about 90 seconds left in the first quarter until about 2 minutes were gone in the second quarter, there were a total of 5-6 actual plays run and 5 freaking commercial breaks - FG/commercial, KO/commercial, time-out/commercial, end of quarter/commercial, change of possession/commercial.  All of that took about 15 minutes in real time.  That was painful and it seems to be getting worse.

Me and the gal were watching an old 50's movie last night and at the opening credits, there was a disclaimer that said something like " the program has been editted to allow more time for commercials".  No, not on the comedy channel.

The OL and running game played physical today.  Haven't seen that out of a GBP team in some time.

Hawk played one of his  best games I've seen from him, and the same could be said for Nick Perry.   Liked what I saw from Mike Neal also.

Run defense has been dominant.  Bush got nothing today on the ground.

Burnett made a big difference - no big plays downfield, although not having to face Calvin Johnson helped too.

5-5 for Crosby - wow

Injuries - what else is new

Left some scoring opportunities on the field

Franklin has a ton of talent but if he can't hang onto the ball he's not going get many reps

Loved the running game plan which used some traps...I was really worried that if we used the zone stretch play, Suh & Farley would be in our backfield all day. With that said, I thought our RB's left some big plays on the field. Again, smart DC's are playing very tight on our WR's to take away the short pass game, which MM wants to use to help our oline, I'd like to see us use some bunch formations to combat that tactic.

Although the Packers face a stiff test at Baltimore next Sunday, the schedule gets considerably easier in the six games after that against opponents with a combined 10-18 record, including Cleveland, at Minnesota, Chicago, Philadelphia, at the New York Giants and home against Minnesota.

I can already hear it ...my lions fan coworker will blame the loss on Calvin Johnson being out.

still, thought the D was very solid today.

offense has still yet to get into any kind of rhythm and the redzone playcalling & execution was again interesting.

Jones and Nelson saved the day

on to Baltimore...

interesting numbers from GBPG:

Numbers

• 23 — Consecutive victories by the Packers over the Lions at home, a streak that started in 1992 and is an NFL record.

• 180 — Yards rushing by the Packers against the Lions after gaining 182 on the ground in their last game against Ciincinnati. The last time the Packers posted consecutive 180-plus rushing yards was in 2003.

• 13-1 — Packers’ record in their last 14 games against NFC North opponents. The Packers improved to 33-10 in the division under coach Mike McCarthy.

• 1989 — The last time an NFL team had a 65-yard run and 80-yard pass in the same game. James Jones (83-yard reception) and Randall Cobb (67-yard run) turned the trick against the Lions. The Los Angeles Raiders’ Bo Jackson (92-yard run) and Willie Gault (82-yard catch) last did it on Nov. 5, 1989, vs. Cincinnati.

Positives:

Just a real solid game all around on offense and defense.  Nice to see Nick Perry finally show something as a pass rusher.  Maybe that right side is where he needs to be.

Negatives:

Offense was effective but not a well oiled machine.  Franklin fumbled again which the Pack got an extremely good bounce to prevent a turnover.
