+ Packers won at Lambeau
AP kept below 100

47 years of futility and counting for the Vikings
- Jordy gimpy. Hope he can go
Other than that, I'm happy we won. I do hope if we're in the same position next week that Coach McCarthy will be a little less conservative in the 4th quarter.
1 down. 3 to go! Go Pack Go!!!!!!
Nelson was not on the post-game injury list.
Cory Cove is a good dude on kfan. I would be calling in with anyone else.
Positives - AaronΒ΄s first playoff win at Lambeau.

I forgot to do that... too bad meathead is gone, but in a way, this is even better.
Sally's dude? That must be the spiritual successor to Jesse's Girl.
Cutler thinks Ponder pussed out tonight.
The best part, and I was explaining this earlier to queens fans.
Last weekend was win-win.
Lose, Bears out.
Win, Vikiings out.
Ok so fine, bares out.
Double super bonus!
Knock out queens on national TV and have to show nothing.
Amazing.

If the Packers come out of this one without any injuries (based on how the injures have gone this year, we probably won't know until next Saturday if Nelson and Finley will play), then the loss to the Vikings last week very well could end up working in their favor in the long run.

Woodson on the first drive with a nice stop of Peterson.

Viking fans will pass this loss off on Webb and end his career once and for all in MN.
Next year Ponder will suck again and go 6-10 and Minny be no better off with an old defense and not drafting in the the top 20, which makes things really hard on Spielman. And Percy will leave. And then will pay WAY more than they should for Greg Jennings.
It ends the same way evey year. It always will.

If not for lining up offsides and having too many men on the field penalties, it'd be a 13-3, and MIN would be right in it. Those two mistakes have made it a runaway.
The fact I'm the only one who has caught this astounds me, but you know, forest for the trees.
morons
Yes, and as my mother used to say after WWll, "If wishes were horses, all beggars would ride" since there were so many "beggars" at that time. As far as the Packers winning because of these 2 penalties, how many games have we seen where the Pack loses a game for that reason. This is all part of the gamer.

Soooo Trueeee
Positives
- Harris in the passing game. Was huge on those 3rd and shorts to help extend drives. Just left open over the middle for a little dumpoff that went for 8+ yards every time.
- Rodgers. Accurate and no turnovers(the usual)
- Woodson. Glad to have him back on the field and now has a game under his belt. Gonna need him for next week
- Walden. AFter that gaphe on the bootleg run he really did a good job. They needed it to
- Clay. The usual from him
- No key injuries as far as I recall. Finley had a hamstring apparently, but it doesn't seem to be too serious
- Defense as a whole. Adjusted on the fly to a different QB. Sure, he can't pass, but they still did a good job of containing AP. Didn't allow him to just bounce outside and get an easy 15-20+ yards. Held him under 100 yards on 20+ carries. That's what they needed to do
Negatives:
- 1st and goal at the 2 and couldn't punch it in. Can't settle for 3 that close to the end zone come playoff time
- Didn't get any points off the Vikes turnovers.
- Didn't blow the Vikes out by more(I hate that team so much)

If Peterson only has a great season (something like 1500 yards on the ground) instead of a season for the ages, the Vikings are a 5-11 team, at best. They need to have a great offseason and hope that Ponder becomes a NFL QB if they want any shot at the playoffs next year, because they're not going to get another season for the ages next year out of Peterson. I know even after the win over them, people are probably sick of hearing about Peterson, but it cannot possibly be overstated how much he did for that team.quote:Originally posted by ChilliJon:

It always ends like this.
It is their density to fail
No one was pulling more for Minny more than Atlanta. They get Seattle or Washington now. Good luck with that.
SF gets GB in SF in the playoffs. Aarons dream game.

+Shields with a career game tackling and an Int.
+Matthews Hat Trick - Sack, strip the ball and recover the fumble. Matthews sacking Webb with no arms or hands.
- GB not scoring 40 points or more Sat nite
Maybe MM has been holding back the offense until now, maybe next week we see last years passing attack the rest of the playoffs.

Atlanta will probably beat either of those teams, particularly Seattle. The odds Seattle will win two road playoff games after flying all the way across the country are basically nil. Even if Carroll decides to set up camp somewhere on the east coast after a win in Washington (Jim Harbaugh did it last year with back to back road games in Cincinnati and Philadelphia, and Belichick did a few years back), they don't have much of a shot. I know Atlanta and Matt Ryan suck in the playoffs, but they're going to win one eventually. My expectation for them is that they'll finally get over the hump and feel like they're on top of the world, and then be annihilated in the NFCCG.quote:Originally posted by ChilliJon:

My brother left Afganistan (USAF) yesterday morning Wisconsin time, and was able to drink his first beer in over a year while watching the game in Manas, Kyrgystan.
Priceless being able to WhatsApp about the Game across the globe between my Dad and Brothers from Singapore, Kyrgystan, Idaho, and Arizona.

The best thing about this game is that the team hasn't even peaked yet. They should be just happy enough to call it momentum.
- - -
Now we have to play a real team.
Actually never mind, that's a positive too. Payback time.

Jordy's a gamer, and he's doing what he can, but he will likely be very limited for the duration. He's fought hard all year to come back, yet doesn't have a chance to heal this late in the season. Tough break for all involved.
+
Defense came to play, likely responded to some effective coaching, and (mostly) maintained discipline. It was a world of difference, and nice to see.
Raji is still playing well.
Walden turned tough and had a great game.
Ditto for Moses.
Shields is also continuing some great play (he be ballin'!).
CM3's and CWood's leadership on the field can't be under-estimated. Both bring attitude and execution.
ARod is still playing well, albeit not at last year's level. He's showing plenty of grit, absorbing punishment and keeps his BFI pegged.
Harris is a nice surprise. I think he is putting out max effort in learning and practicing plays, and the results are showing.
James "Clutch" Jones is becoming the "go-to" guy for 3rd down conversions.
It was only one play, but Grant's screen pass was a thing of beauty!
Fairly decent game by the OL. Newhouse, in particular, held up well against Allen in the 2nd half. Granted there was even more rushing attempts, but he had decent protection on the pass plays.
-
1st quarter performance. Again.
WR's seem to struggle at times to get open or get separation. As a whole, I really expect more consistency, and I admit it's been a tough year for injuries at that position, but I think guys like Jennings should be abusing the Vikes D-backs.
3rd and short conversions are still problematic.
"Mis-communications" on defense. Again, I expect better from these guys.

Offense was way too predictable and conservative when they got up 24-3 and I didn't feel MM had one of his better games. Third down efficiency was horrible and they're going to have to pick it up substantially against SF.
Similar to others we are a better defense as soon as we get a lead. At 7-3, 10-3, 17-3, and 24-3 there was a progressed level of dominance by the defense. The chat room was even less suicidal at each new point increase.
I suspect offensively challenged teams trailing us become slightly diminished, pressured to score at a higher level.
I question why we defer or play conservatively early knowing how critical holding a lead may be. Playing a young QB next week on the road getting a lead is a prime example.

We made it look so easy on the last drive of first half & first drive of second half. Once up 24-3 it looked like we were just content to keep the clock moving. I know that MM said he was disappointed that we didn't run the ball well in the second half, but we do not have the type of team that can run vs. 8 guys in the box, which was what the Vikes were doing based on the formations we were using.

Rodgers owned the Vikes again
Harris running with some authority
Great tackling by the D
Penalties were kept at a minimum
--
Seemed like they took their foot off the gas a little bit in the 4Q
Hopefully nothing wrong with Jordy or YOTTO
Kuhn got too many touches without fumbling or being stopped for no gain

After the Pack wnet up 24 to 3 early in the 2nd half it seemed obvious to me that MM was not really trying to score anymore. He must have felt the the D had things under control and the purple could not get to 25.
If that is true why then have #12 in there? Especially in the 4th quarter haveing him on the feild subjet to Allen and company. IMO if not trying to score and not wishing to show more tnan needed to future opponents why not get Harrell in there. We saw last nite that having a qualified, somewhat experienced backup qb is invaluable.
