I get it...it was a bad game all around.  But there are two things I don’t get....

1.) why all the angst towards Rodgers.  Yes, he missed some throws...but I don’t get the “padding the stats” anger.  I saw a player trying to win a game.  Maybe I am just naive

2.) are some of you giving up on the season?  The Packers are a better team than the Lions.  This was just one of those games that went pair shaped and never got back all the way.  I have not given up.

And I hate that I feel that way already.  But the blunders of TT's last few drafts and McCarthy's lack of innovation,  stubbornness, piss poor staff choices, and awful game management have me feeling very frustrated.   Arod"s not immune either.  He dug a big hole today with careless play and doesn't seem to have much fire left.

+OL played outstanding.

-Offensive playcalling,  I know there is some question about who is making the calls, but McStupidface is putting 11 on the field for each play and I think there are time it was bonkers.  Tendencies are to easy for other teams and just give the ball to Jones instead of trying to eve equitable to all three RB.

+I thought the defense played well.

Poz: it ended

Oh, this season is pretty much done.  They've sleepwalked thru the easier part of the schedule.   They'll finish 9-6-1 at best.  Will get rolled by the Rams and Pat's, and lose at Minny and Bears.

NEW MODS: my nomination for worst post of the year so far right here.

I think AR is representative of this team's outright anemia in the 1st half in games this season. It takes them getting their ass kicked in the first half of games before finally someone lights a fire under their ass and they get going.

Aaron flat out missed at least 3-4 WIDE open WR's/TE's in the 1st Q. Plays he absolutely should make. He did that last week against Buffalo. He did it early against Washington (though drops certainly didn't help).

This is also a team under MM that has a 1st and goal at the 9. Williams runs for a healthy 6 yards. Now it's at the 3. So, do we give it to Williams again? Nope. Aaron Jones? Nope. Instead, 2 straight incompletions. Just mind numbingly frustrating and symbolic of McStubborn.

Then it's also Aaron continuing to swing for the fences. Again and again. When you go back and look, he's got an open WR or TE underneath for 6-7 yards and you can move the chains. And MM either won't call him out on it or AR won't listen. It's frustrating as hell.

AR is getting paid an insane amount of money. Is it always fair he gets now double the scrutiny ? Maybe not. But at 33 mil a year, missing throws, not seeing open guys, and then pointing fingers last week at the game plan when your not playing nearly well enough isn't going to cut it.

++++

Had a great weekend with the family and visited friends in TWC

Got over this annoying cold

Badgers came through and my written off Brewers (thanks to me) are up 2-0

Bucks start the season soon

I didn’t spend much time watching or listening this game meaning I spared all of you from my senseless x4 ranting

It sure isn’t looking great right now at 1265 Lombardi and there aren’t enough single malt scotches to take the stink off this one

My interest in the NFL lessens every week.  Which is really sad because I used to live for Sunday’s.   Maybe the NFLFU will help me and others get back to where it used to be but I’m not sure.

What is so hard about teaching someone to play special teams and not get a penalty?

It seems like they are going by some kind of dated script and not paying attention to how the game is currently being called.

Any block that even remotely looks like it is in the back on a punt return is going to get flagged. Every. Single. Time. It’s been that way for years.  You are much, much better off not blocking at all.

Yet every week, every team sticks to the script. It’s gotten so old there’s mold on it.

Thank you, those are my thoughts. Lots of blame to around. Wonder if Ar will point the finger at himself in his presser? He needs to stand in the mirror, and ask is this about me or about the team

Before I can give the D a pass I need someone to explain to me why their guys were wide open in the end zone at least twice.

On one I recall King playing outside leverage and HaHa is seen running to the corner leaving middle wide open. That has to be cleaned up. Happening all the time with our saftey play.

Yup, and that is why the D gets no atta boys from me.

There were 2  very telling over head camera shots, one when we had the ball in the red zone and not one of our recievers was remotely open and one shot of there's with 2 guys wide open.

It would be interesting to take a look over the last 10 years how things have changed in the return game.

A guy returning a punt or kickoff for a TD was a routine part of the game and now it seems it’s a complete rarity if it happens.

I get the player safety angle, but the NFL has all but eliminated the special teams impact.

When a big return happens now I look for the flag.

My comment was sarcastic, since he went for the "easy" 1-yard TD pass instead of running it in from the 1.

How about this Tony Brown kid. Love the fire, great play on the ball. Penalty was bogus. If he can hone those instincts and combine it with his 4.3 speed we could have a player. I’m sick of watching calm, collected players out there, I want some energy and some nastiness, even if we get penalties. Shows that we’re competing instead of just executing (not much of that either).
