He can absolutely play but he is still raw when it comes to routes. A raw yet talented guy cannot cover for two other WR positions with negligible talent. I'm glad they won. Despite my bitching they are 9-3. That in itself makes this season worthwhile. They took care of business on the road and were solid when they had to be. My last point on this for the moment- week 1 Rodgers tipped his cap to his defense, which meant a good sense of relief that he didn't need to do things on his own. Since then, they've come up big in certain wins and played badly in others. I think at this point, the O will function best if Rodgers starts trusting all 10 guys he lines up with, whether it be WRB's or TE's that really are good only for sitting down in the middle for moderate gains. No unit has to carry the whole team, but for them to truly compete they all need to complement each other. ST played well today, and I think they helped out the defense in a big way. I'll take 12-14 play drives come playoff time all day. AR can be a great game manager when he's locked in.
I can't help but go back to the Favre/Sharpe comparison. When #4 knew he had no security blanket, he had to change his game. Holmgren adapted perfectly to it, and we saw guys step up in a way that O previously hadn't been able to do. Brooks, Freeman, Levens, Morgan, Ed West(?) all got a chance to contribute because they were asked to make 2-3 plays a game. That's what this offense can be and working in Davante for the kill shot WILL be there if they are patient enough to set a tone and establish their thing. The WR's are average, but they can and have made plays when their plate isn't too full. Get a little bit from each guy consistently and watch the offense transform.

Since he has played for several NFL teams that makes him the perfect scout team player. And I think that is why the Packer D plays so poorly. The scout team sucks during practice.
King and Savage will seldom have easier INT's, thanks for holding on to them. The other INT was pretty sweet.

It's pretty well known Rodgers isn't going to throw you the ball if he doesn't trust you. Allison was supposedly the guy with great chemistry, blah blah blah but he's completely shit the bed. MVS, he's playing like a 5th rounder. There are no Freemans or Brooks on this team unfortunately.
I don't know how far you can take the "saving it for later" premise but hopefully Mayo rolls out a playoff scheme putting Jones and Williams right back in the thick of the passing game. It's a damn awesome change of pace but I think other teams would've nailed that down in a hurry.
I also get people wanting to see a 2 minute offense, quick release type offense but again the best plays Lazard has made are straight up sandlot. Adams is Adams. I don't see any other receivers who can consistently not be mugged off the line or across the middle.
You have two old TEs, a scrub TE and rookie who's been out for half the season. Let Sternberger get reps. For the love of god Ryan Grant should at least get a try out as to if he can contribute or not.
Here's to hoping some of the uninspired offensive game play is treading water for now. Maybe we'll be wowed by a hell of shift up come playoff time.
BTW Artis, you're actually talking about possibilities and results even if there are disagreements. Thanks for not outright shitting on everything the Packers are trying to do.

Agree on both negatives. What is so freaking hard about varying the count or cadence and maybe throwing in a quick count now and then? It amazes me that it seems like only Brady is smart enough to go on a quick count and snap the ball before the defense can get set and dig in when there is only a yard to go for a first down or touchdown.
