I like him a lot to, but it would have been better if he was replacing Hawk. Maybe it's me but his injury looked somewhat similar to Urlacher's knee getting bent when Rodgers juked both he and Briggs out on that run attempt last season. Urlacher avoided a serious injury. Hopefully Bishop does as well
Bishop will be out for a while. Funeral Monday. Body cremated. Ashes scattered on Atrium floor, after person carrying urn trips on Jarrett Bush's prone body (after Bush falls down trying to defend a 9 year old playing catch). Maintenance vacuums up the ashes and deposits them in the dumpster. Urn is turned into an spittoon in Curley's Pub.

per @RobDemovksy

"McCarthy said 'Desmond's injury didn't look too good.' It's a knee injury with potential hamstring, if I heard MM correctly."

I heard the soundbyte on 620. He said "knee sprain and possibly a hamstring too...it's early..."
Just posted from Silverstein:

The #Packers did not escape unscathed in their preseason opener. Desmond Bishop and Davon House suffered injuries. Bishop told teammates that he was optimistic that his injury wasn’t season-ending, but they're looking at both his knee and hamstring and Mike McCarthy admitted he's hoping to catch a break with upcoming tests. House injured his shoulder covering a punt and said he felt a sharp pain. He said he's hoping that the shoulder just popped out, which wouldn't be without issue either.
