6-1 Packers. The Packers score late in the Game. during the conversion attempt the ball is fumbled. ( No Viking ever touches the ball)  Newhouse picks up the ball and runs the wrong way the  length of the field, a Viking player tackles Newsome in the Packers end zone, conversion safety, the Vikings score one point.

Ok the conversion safety is only in college football.

Or maybe it can happen in the NFL

I believe today is decision day for Worthy and Richardson. Activated or done for the year.

Hoping Shields, Perry, and Barclay can go Sunday.

PFF ranked Newhouse 53rd out of 53 tackles that played last Sunday. Sherrod played 3 snaps (special teams). If Barclay can't go we might see Sherrod. Newhouse is close to not starting a RT at all.

The Packers should win this one, considering the suckfest season the queens are having, even with our injuries. However, we could just as likely lose if the D maintains it's horrible play.

It looks like it's going to be a mighty cold game. Can Lacy hang onto the ball in the cold? Will the indoor queens wither on the frozen tundra?

Fortunately, or unfortunately, I wont be able to watch the game. Because, I'll be up at deer camp and there's no Fox channel that we can get in our cabin. So, I'll be listening on Packer Radio Network.

@WesHod

MM: No update on Randall Cobb. He's off his segway. He's getting around a lot better, see him in weight room. He's getting healthy

@PGPackersNews

RT @WesHod: Shields and Barclay are in the rehab phase. Haven't done anything in practice. They're still rehab category.

@WesHod

MM: I don't think Eddie Lacy has hit wall. Guy I feel I neglected in opportunity was Franklin. Carried ball well in Cincinnati

@WesHod

MM on Sense of urgency: Hell yeah. Ya see it around the locker room. There's a lot that goes into this game. Dont care about playoff picture

@WesHod

MM: It was good to see JC Tretter out there. We'll go pads tomorrow. We laid out a 3-week plan and try to move along. He looks good

Scott Tolzien's plate gets fuller each week he's in the lineup

A big problem against the Giants was that their defense crowded the line of scrimmage and made it difficult to run the ball. It's a good bet that if the Vikings do the same thing on Sunday, that Tolzien will be able to audible out of running plays more often than he did last Sunday.

Tolzien had a very good day finding the open areas in the Giants defense, but three interceptions overshadowed the yardage he put up. Being able to audible won't keep him from throwing interceptions but it might put him in better plays.

McCarthy said that dealing with constant eight-man fronts is something the Packers didn't account for much when preparing the offense in the off-season, so it has taken a shift in emphasis to deal with it.

There are plenty of plays in the playbook, he said, but much time in the off-season and training camp goes into what kind of offense you'll be.

"That’s what you’re seeing with us on offense," McCarthy said.

"We’re balancing out really how people, the reality of how we’re being played as opposed to how we trained since April 15th." continue

You'd like to think they'd expect more eight man fronts with Tolzien at QB.  The amount of runs they tried last week against it was kind of strange.  Perhaps Tolz and MM spent so much time preparing for the scripted plays that MM was reluctant to deviate from it.

Have to say Tolz, even with his limited exposure to the offense, is a better option than Harrel or Coleman would be right now.  MM has to be pretty happy with what he has considering the preseason.  That was disastrous.

As much as MM needs to win right now, I think he wants to make sure he doesn't give Tolz too much too soon and overwhelm him even if it limits the options on gameday.

I think part of MM's excitement with the downfield success last week was it opened up where he thinks he can take the game plan this week against the 8 man fronts.

It's a hard watch as the pressure builds with each loss, but that's the cost of saving cap space on a backup. I can't say I disagree with the approach.  12 and 52 take a large piece of the cap. As Rodgers gets older it may become prudent to keep a more experienced backup around, though.
