At least the Monasterio injury was not serious.  Just dizzy after being hit in the face by a runner getting back to 2nd base.  He sure has done a great job.  All position players on the 40 man roster are either active or on the IL.  Adames is due back Thursday as is Luis Urias.  Willy had a double, homer and a BB at AA Wisconsin today and is now off to Nashville for games Tues and Wed.

Not sure how they can send Monasterio back down if he gets a couple of more games this week and continues to play as good as he has.  Maybe Brosseau get sent down or DFA.

Julio Teheran has started three games for Milwaukee, and has been excellent, surrendering 3 earned runs in 17 1/3 IP, good for a 1.56 ERA.

Heā€™s 1-2.

Do we support our pitchers, or what?

This offense needs a complete remake in the offseason, and I donā€™t know where the money is going to come from.

Maybe we could hold a bake sale.

We've said it many times, but man is it painful watching Yelich knowing what he was like 4-5 years ago.

He has 14 extra base hits this season. He had 18 extra base hits in September 2018 (and also in August 2018).

I go back and look at those numbers from 2018-19 and it doesn't seem real.

Yelich fouled that ball off his kneecap on September 10, 2019. In the calendar year before that injury he had played in 148 games. In those games, he had 186 hits in 543 at-bats with 97 walks. He scored 120 runs. He had 35 stolen bases in 37 attempts. In those games he hit 343 with 52 home runs and 121 RBIs. He had 388 total bases.

His on-base percentage was 442 and his SLG of 714 for an OPS of 1156. Mike Trout's highest OPS for a season is 1090. It's Babe Ruth/Barry Bonds level of hitting.

It was absolutely insane. In one game in 2018, St. Louis walked him 5 times. I would watch most games in that stretch and, if I had something else going on, I would often sneak away during a dinner meeting just to watch his at-bats during the pennant race.

From about the all-star break in 2018 until he broke his kneecap, it was like watching Giannis play Game 6 in the Finals for almost every game.

Now, he's the biggest albatross of a contract they've ever had. At least Braun was still a very good power hitter for the majority of his contract.

LambeauSouth mentioned above that they need to rebuild the offense. But they can't really do that with him sucking up 20% of the salary total and hitting him 3rd or 4th.

He's got 5 more years fully guaranteed.

Even worse is that he's a liability in the field because of his weak arm. Any single scores a runner from 2B and any flyball scores a runner from 3B. He's basically been reduced to a contact hitter but he Ks too much to be called that. The Brewers have 4 really good young outfielders that could start next season in the bigs and I'm not sure where that leaves Yelich. At some point they have to make a decision because they can't play him for another 5 years. His contract is much worse than the deal the Packers had with Rodgers, at least he could still play.
