Willie led a good, long life. God bless him.
When I played softball back in the early '80s my jersey number was 24 in honor of Willie.
My Grandma Eisenback's favorite Packer was Willie Wood. I remember listening to games on Grandma's Philco and listening to her delight when Willie made a play. Biggest fan he ever had. Very sorry to hear the news. RIP
Legendary
My favorite Packer player growing up.
RIP
RIP, Willie. Even though 83 is a long time, you are gone too soon...
Fantastic player and a great Packer.
Everyone remembers his INT and being amused that Fred "The Hammer" Williamson got knocked out of the game in SB I, but he was much more than that.

I did the same with Travis Williams.
The problem was I grew up "knowing" his # was 27, and I requested that number whenever possible.
40 years later, it was pointed out to me that his # was actually 23.....

I bet that effected how fast you ran!
I always wanted 66 but I didn't want to lose my hair and teeth at such a young age.

Sorry fellas, fixed the link.
Had to change sources, though.
BK, is that a Mike Sherman to the left? Hope you didn't spend much on that!
Yeah....and Favre on the right....Willie deserves better company.

He needs to be in the company of Charles Woodson, Herb Adderley, and LeRoy Butler
Tough last years for Willie. Godspeed.
One of the best Packers. RIP

Yeah, put all the black players together and separate them from the white ones.
That interception looks an awful lot like the one Collins got a couple of decades later...
And it shows what a good pass rush will do!

Who was the Packers last white CB?

Hey, Timmy......my nephew was named for Travis William. He’s Erin TRAVIS K....... still wears his jersey.
Your nephew is named Erin?

Yah....we’re Irish.... ☘️
Black Irish or regular Irish?
They prefer Irish cream.

Who was the Packers last white CB?

I was going to say recently departed Doug Hart, but Packers.com has him list as Defensive Back in their all-time roster. He did play primarily as a cornerback but must have played some safety too.
Has there been a white CB in the NFL since Jason Sehorn?
White folks aren't worthy to play CB
What about Italians?

Italian aunt's are best suited for offensive line play. Uncles just heckle from the stands. (At least mine did!)
RIP Willie. How many Lombardi Packers are left?

A lot of them died young, but there are still many left.
Paul Hornung, Dave Robinson, Herb Adderley, Jim Grabowski, Donny Anderson, Marv Fleming, Carroll Dale, Boyd Dowler, Tom Brown, Willie Davis, Bill Curry.
I would be that Paul Hornung was not at the top of anyone's list to live to a ripe old age. He's 84 last year and has been married to his (second) wife for 40 years.
Jerry Kramer, Ben Wilson, Chuck Mercein, Don Horn, Bob Hyland, Bob Long,
Thanks forever to Hyland for breaking Devine's leg... should have been his neck!
