Very proud...

"But personally, I think it was one of the most gratifying years, based on the things that we had happen to our team, the adversity we pushed through and the stresses that we had on us this year. And I'm very proud of the fact that I was able to play all 16 games and we kept it together and we didn't create any distractions."

More honesty in this article than we've heard from him at the podium or his locker the past 8+ weeks.

MM is just trying to avoid the polluted mindset and negativity and that's really about what I'd expect them to say. The offense is what it is (abysmal) and there won't be any magical transformation.

That was Rodgers saying that.  That is the most he has really said about the offense in while.  That is what makes the statement interesting.  I really don't believe it, but I'm still on the bandwagon.

From what I've seen and read about Aaron is that he's not a real vocal type of leader that whoops and hollers a lot but rather gives the icy looks and holds grudges for a millennium. I think he was sincere in his comments about showing up "when it counts." He may be able to push himself harder but I don't see that having much effect on the rest of the offense with his subdued demeanor. There did seem to be some spark at the end of 3rd Q going into Q4. Too little too late for that game. However if they can carry that into Sunday, it could be something to build on.

โ€œIโ€™m a (sports) fan myself,โ€ Rodgers said. โ€œWhen I watch sports on TV โ€” you make your own inferences and we try and figure out whatโ€™s going on. But ultimately, unless you talk to me or somebody asks me directly, they donโ€™t really know what a certain look means or body-language expression, facial or body expression, unless youโ€™re in my head or in his head.โ€   Guess this kinda means "R E L A X part 2" huh??  Now go out there and kick some are.  Please......

Pete's article is an encouraging read. I have no idea if it's essentially sunshine being blown up said ass but at least it sounded good.

โ€œI trust Mike,โ€ Rodgers said. โ€œThere are things the team expects me to do, and thatโ€™s prepare to be successful, to make the plays Iโ€™m accustomed to make on the field, and to make my teammates better. When it comes to big decisions like that, I have to trust Mike. I have to trust that heโ€™s doing whatโ€™s in the best interest of the team at all times.โ€

McCarthy said that he provides Rodgers with his preliminary call sheet on Thursday each week so they can go over which plays each likes best and least. When thereโ€™s disagreement, McCarthy has final say.

McCarthy said it has to be that way because the play caller has to account for factors a quarterback doesnโ€™t, such as his play-calling tendencies as well as those of the opposing defensive coordinator.

โ€œIโ€™d hope weโ€™d have some disagreements,โ€ McCarthy said. โ€œโ€ฆ (But) I would say weโ€™re on the same page. As long as Iโ€™m here the quarterback is the primary position, and everything we do is built around making the quarterback successful.โ€
