You want to summarize for those of us that don’t subscribe? It’s hilarious people want to bag on Rodgers for not putting up elite stats without any mention of the elite throws he makes routinely to beat defenses. The defense isn’t the only reason we’re 5-1, they’re a big reason, but Rodgers is making the throws he needs to make.
Who cares? 12 will have a vintage game at some point this year. Then fantasy foosball will love him again blah blah blah. Next up is da Raiders, just win baby!
Monday night's game confirmed for me that Rodger's hasn't lost it....the only thing he's lost is elite receivers like Jordy, Cobb, Driver, Jones and even (cough, cough) Jennings. The throws he made to MVS, Lazard's TD, and the drop by Graham in the end zone were on the money and something few other QBs could match. Didn't read the link, but the anti Rodgers propaganda is always played by clowns like Bayless and Cowturd.
Dak Prescott has one of the best QBR of any active QB over the last 3 years. Is he elite?
Stats may not be eye-popping like they have been in the past but I see a QB playing at an extremely high level. Need to consider a quite mediocre receiving corp (MLF said six drops on Monday) and becoming acclimated to a new offense.
Forget his pedestrian numbers, the last 2 weeks should put 12 back in the MVP discussion. Scoring 57 points - and beating two pretty good teams - with the slop at WR and TE is pretty darn impressive.

Why do we keep rehashing this? The guy is beginning the end of his career. All great QBs go down this road. Bart, Johnny U, Fouts, etc. Just enjoy how ever many years we have left of watching him.
The thing that really jumps out recently is the difference watching Kizer or Hundley play. I did a double take a few times because it looked like some of the throws and decisions they were making were happening in slow motion. We've had 27 years of HOF QB play in a row. If you are old enough to have watched games with Dilweg, Tomczak, Wright, Whitehurst, Ferragamo, Rich Campbell, Jerry Tagge, Scott Hunter, John Hadl, etc., you remember what is was like for almost 20 years. Dickey and Magic Man were nice respites, but as Ammo says, just enjoy it.
In 2014, Aaron Rodgers was 31 and on top of the NFL. After his second MVP season in four years, one that ended in a 12-4 record and an appearance in the NFC Championship game, there was little doubt he was the best quarterback in the league, if not the best ever.
And then, poof. Aside from a brief stretch at the end of 2016, we’ve rarely seen that player again.

Last thing I will say on "Is Rodgers still Elite?"
Look at all the throws #12 made vs the Lions with his best WR out. Look at the drops of passes that were perfectly thrown. Look at the throws he made on the big catches. Look at the throws he made while on the move.
Now tell me he's no longer elite. **mic drop**

5:35 in...he's flushed from the pocket and hits Marcedes through the tightest window you can ever find. Graham dropped a TD on a perfect throw (not included in the highlights)
7:58 in the throw on 2nd and 7 to Graham...again, you will not find a tighter window.
It's been fun having two decades of elite QB play, but it's more fun to win. Would we really care if we had Alex Smith at QB as long as the team made the playoffs and had a shot at the SB every year? We may say the team is "winning in spite of the QB," but we'd still say "hey, a win is a win and I'm happy with the wins."
At this point, I don't care if AR is considered elite or not; all I want is for him to make enough good decisions and throws to win games, and hopefully, a couple SBs before he hangs them up.
You want to up your ratings?, boost viewership?... just go anti-Rodgers and the fired up masses will be all over it
I think the 2017 Carolina game he played after coming back from the collarbone injury and basically all of 2018, Rodgers was hurt beyond just the standard "aches and pains" a QB goes through and those injuries did affect his play during that period.
This year, he looks healthier, he really looks good. He is playing with the weakest set of skill position players at WR/TE that he's ever played with. I think he's playing very well despite that.

At least 2 of those interceptions happened when bouncing off the receivers facemask.

The article devoted the least amount of time to the explanation I think may have the most impact, aside from possible skill erosion. It's the pass catching talent. He barely scratches the surface:
"Athough the Packers’ wide receivers have been hit with the injury bug, we’re trying to explain a drop that has been going on for five seasons. A lot of quarterbacks would love to have Rodgers’ pass protection and a No. 1 wide receiver like Davante Adams, who had only missed three games in the three seasons before experiencing turf toe in September."
The author's next project should be plotting a timeline of all of AR's stats shown above cross referenced with the receivers on the roster. This would include #of drops but also contested catches (v. contested drops). If we look at 2011-2014 as "peak TE/WR", you will see a steady decline in it's talent from 2015-2019. That group lost every one of its members over time and only gained Adams along the way. All other replacements were of lesser talent than their predecessor.
Give him that kind of talent to throw to again and you'll see his stats escalate. Maybe not to his MVP level but easily back into the top statistical tier.
It's amazing that Rodgers can fit the ball in those tight windows AND his interception numbers are so low. I can't remember which Packers quarterback it was that took huge chances and was either great or terrible, but that's not Rodgers.
Gutenmeister will re-stock the cupboards in 2020 on offense. Big contracts like Jimmy Graham, Tramon Williams, and perhaps even Bulaga will be wiped from the books.
He couldn't do everything in 1-2 years to fix what has become a massive talent gap at WR and TE and OL depth.
Rodgers is essentially throwing to XFL and Arena WR's. The stories of WhiteWater Jesus and Sheppard etc are all nice to hear. But there's a reason these guys went undrafted or bounced from roster to roster. It's incredible what AR is doing with so little.
He called Bert "grandpa." He tricked everyone into believing TT had dementia. He drew in red marker on the side of MM's head. He publicly flogged a woman in the airport because she had cancer. He schemed to rid himself of Jordy and Cobb to soak up the entire spotlight. And now he's quietly making MLF his little bitch. Tell me he ain't elite...

I absolutely can't stand the Seahawks, but grudgingly have to admit that Russell Wilson is playing absolutely great. Russell Wilson has been the most impressive QB I've seen this year, but Rodgers is pretty close. I don't think Wilson has a ton of talent surrounding him either.
He looks ok to me. New system too many crappy receivers.

I think it’s clear that Rodgers was affected by the injury and that wreaked havoc on his mechanics. I think he’s still getting through and over that. He was missing some of those throws earlier in the season. Monday night he was making them...
Rodgers is still elite. Ask NFL DBs, not some data analyst who likely spun the data to meet some prescribed narrative his boss wanted to push.

Maybe the best throw from MNF was the needle threading throw to Mercedes down the sideline in Q4.

As long as #12 is on the field there is hope. He has done pretty darn well against some really good defenses this year in IMHO. You can see that he is still an elite QB maybe more so than ever. Why? he has no Adams, the WRs are young, the WRs are banged up, they aren't getting much from the TE position, and they are running the ball more than ever. If the defense continues to put the offense in a position to win the Packers will continue to win. I don't care how winning is fun to watch.
Sometimes I think these articles are written by people who play FFL and don't watch the games. All I will say is I hope AR sees articles like this it just creates a chip on his shoulder and we all know how well he plays when he is doubted.

Great point. I actually had to stop & rewind that play three times because I couldn't believe that....
1) Marcedes actually caught it
2) How in the Blue Hell, did Rodgers fit that in there?!?!
Wilson is playing great right now. Perhaps he should be or is in the MVP conversation. But he has some weapons. Tyler Lockett is better than any WR the Packers have not named Adams. DK Metcalf not bad for a rookie. Currently seems like he can only run fly patterns, but it works. Chris Carson is a damn good RB. He also had Will Dissly (who is now hurt) & Will was playing great too. Wilson has some weapons. They may not be household names but he has some. More than Rodgers has right now. Other than the Packer RB's, it's kinda tough sledding for the skill positions in Green Bay. Jimmy Graham really irks me with the drops. Those are plays he made routinely just a couple years ago. Sometimes Father Time (who, BTW, is undefeated) creeps up faster on some people than others.

That vintage game came and humbled the Raiders. ARod played his best game in years, against the Raiders. He led that offense up and down the field all game long and especially when our defense could not find it's footing. A solid performance by ARod that got some people talking MVP, again. ARod had a perfect passer rating, as well. And all without Davante Adams.--BTW, I'm kind of getting tired of hearing that. Our WRs just need to play more often. Look what giving a chance to Allen Lazard did for him. Even the "injured" GMO and MVS both had solid games for us. I cannot wait to see ESB on the field, again. Another big target for a revitalized ARod! GO PACK, GO!!!
