I'm encouraged to see Ervin becoming part of the game plan. That said, short guys are usually busting the seam not running go routes. Go routes are almost entirely about putting the ball where the defender has no chance to get it or having a tall ass receiver to be able to out jump/muscle a defender. It's not a knock on Jones and Ervin or even the play selection. It just is what it is. They aren't the optimal fit for some of those plays. MVS is supposed to be the speed guy outside. He's worthless right now.
Hungry5 posted:There were open plays deep. Rodgers missed on 15 by my count, had 1 INT, and the OPI on WWWWJD.
Deep throw misses:
Adams 3; Lazard 2; Jones 4; Ervin 2; MVS 4.
WTF was that? Rodgers looked exactly like Brent Hundley throwing the ball. Bad feet. Bad arm. Bad everything.
Hundley looked good in the Cards victory over Seattle in wk 16.
In an interview (local) he said he takes things from Rodgers and Wilson and incorporates them into his game.
So holding the ball too long and spewing boring, cliche motivational sound bites?
They are putting bad plays on tape so teams are surprised when they break out the good plays.
I thought they were continuing not to do any one thing very well so the other team couldn't take that one thing away?
Maybe they're the same thing.
Keeps them guessing.
See, even we're not sure.
Time to activate Playoff Rodgers.
Rodgers was elite at getting bonuses. $100,000 for playing at least 72.5% of offensive snaps, $120,000 for making playoffs and $100,000 for finishing top 3 in INT percentage. He also can earn $130,000 if he makes NFCCG and $150,000 if he plays in Super Bowl.
That should buy lots of nice furniture for the new house.
Nailed it.

That's it, now I get it. Rodgers was overthrowing receivers because he didn't want to blow the $100,000 in the final game of the season.
He's lived in WI long enough now he's "thrifty".
So who's lining up on the left side?
Are those QBR numbers per zone?
NFL QB Rtg.
What a weird slot on the left side from 10-20 yards.
What's even weirder is down the middle & deep right better than short right.

I feel like we must have seen a lot of Graham, MVS and Allison in that quadrant.

Aaron Rodgers 2019 Regular Season Highlights
Who was 83 that caught the deep pass in the first minute of that?
Is he still on the roster?
In all seriousness, GMO and MVS had some nice grabs the first couple games.
They have really regressed.
Nice thing is 12 doesn't throw a bad pass in that video.

It definitely feels that way.
Also an overthrow to AJ.

Sad, but true. It's time for some redemption. If they want to make their marks as Packers, now is the time.
Don't know if any of you listen to "Locked on Packers" podcast with Peter Bukowski. But you should.....
Interviews with MLF & Aaron Jones.
MLF: I have never had a game plan with less screens since I've been a coach. Rodgers made the screen play call to Aaron Jones. Lions are very good at defending the screen. They "rush" 5 then drop the 2 ends into the screen area.
AJ: A-Rod comes into the huddle & says....you ready for a screen? AJ got pumped because he's getting the ball. Rodgers to AJ: Go make a play kid!
Yeah.....the screen play to AJ was all Rodgers call. Thanks AR12.
Some very enlightening stuff in today's show. Look it up.
But Rodgers still had a terrible game, right?
Matt Ryan was kind of a fucking mess trying to make sense of what Kyle Shanahan was throwing in front of him in 2015. Then 2016 happened and Ryan won the MVP and had the best year he’s ever had and went to a Super Bowl.
Rodgers is ahead of the Ryan curve and MLF is well ahead of Rodgers but Rodgers is slowly closing the gap.....
It's gonna happen....let's all hope it starts divisional weekend.
Cuz I got a surprise prediction for 2020 coming up.
0130 LFT on New Years... what could go wrong?

Henry is going to transition to Helen?

I want to be one of the 30 Helens. Gives me crazy stat cred.
The "Rodgers is seeing ghosts" narrative is the one that I struggle with the most. It would imply he is getting rid of the ball to quickly (which would be a new AR narrative), but this year is still holding the ball longer than most every QB in football.
I still think year 2 and upgrade in receiving talent makes a world of difference for AR.
Maybe 14-2 difference
Worst 14 and 2 team in history, dibs
so...its mlf calling all the deep shots?
The offense is predicated on taking what the defense gives you...in the case of Sundays game vs. the Lions, their coverage dictated deep shots. Lots of them according to MLF.
As I mentioned earlier the film study showed the Lions bluffing a 5 man rush, then dropping the 2 ends & take away the screen play. MLF said the Lion defense is really good at taking away the screen. All year long.
As Chilli said, I think Rodgers has been throwing to a spot. It worked in KC on the unbelievable TD pass to Jamal Williams. On that play, he had to throw to a spot otherwise it's probably picked off. Jamal went & got it.
Rodgers needs to continue learning this offense. I know he will & I promise you, if the Saints come to Lambeau, they're going to be worried.
Saints 3 losses.....
SF / Falcons / Rams
What do those 3 teams have in common with the Packers?
Same offense.
I hope some of you are right, but I am perplexed if part of the issue is Rodger's still learning the new scheme and presently, receivers can be wide open and he is unaware of these occurrences when they happen.
I don't know...
