Definitely not elite today.

Pakrz, you were conspicuously absent for the public flogging in the other thread about prematurely writing Rodgers' obituary and yet you're the first one to jump in here when he had a single bad game.  Are you sure you're not a Vikings fan?

Oh Bob, don’t be like that. Your boy has been elite in 2020 prior to yesterday, where he was terrible.

A Viking fan Bob? If your goal is to insult me you’ll have to do better. I expect more out of X4.

Not meaning to insult, just calling you out for bravely letting other people take the public flogging that was meant for you and then jumping back in as soon as he had a bad game.

Fair to say that MLF rejuvenated his career and has him once again playing at an elite level.

MLF deserves some credit, obviously. By the same logic, MM clearly rejuvenated Favre's career as well.

It would have been incredible to see MLF with Rodgers, Nelson, Jennings, Cobb, Finley, and J. Jones circa 2011. I mean, they did go 15-1, so I don't know how much better it could have gotten. But imagine adding the concept of scheming guys open to that offense -which was basically just overwhelm the defense with too many good receivers to cover.

A rare non-elite game for #12 last night. Could hurt the MVP chances if Mahomes has even an average Mahomes game today.

Watch out for Derrick Henry. He is at 1679 yards with 15 TDs with 2 games left. Over 5 yards per attempt. And he plays our run defense next week.

The Vegas line will be interesting on the Titans game. Has an 11-3 team playing at home with no significant guys missing from injury ever been an underdog against a team with fewer wins?

The Titans are a really tough matchup for anyone, let alone the Packers with their  rush defense

Pettine needs to play a different game. Chandon Sullivan out there isn't gonna stop Henry.

Watching New England makes me want to clutch to Aaron Rodgers until his arm falls off. 😂

Dont give up on the old farts without having a legit plan. This is why NFL needs a minor league, Jordan Love should be playing football instead of sitting for multiple years.

I always laugh at that also. Mahomes isn't doing anything Rodgers hasn't been doing for the last 12 years. It's all amazing don't get me wrong, Mahomes is legit amazing, but announcers have short memories. I have yet to see anything Mahomes doing that Rodgers hasn't done with Adams, Jordy, Cook, etc. Hell people forget some of the throws Favre was making in the 90's. Josh Allen is making some legit throws as well.

I have absolutely nothing against Mahomes and he is truly a special talent.  BUT he has been doing it for only a couple of seasons.  Rodgers has been doing some pretty amazing thing since becoming a starter.  I think AR gets a ton of love in the media but I also think he also under appreciated at times as well.

I just don't see how they can't vote Rodgers the MVP. Highest QB rating, highest PFF score of any player, best TD / Int ratio, less receiving talent than Mahomes. Of course in an age of "what have you done lately", if we lose Sunday ....

Have you seen his Cornhole game?

Mahomes true test will be doing what he does when he no longer has the amount of skill surrounding him or scheme to maximize it.  I think he's every bit as talented as AR but the mental aspect of the game becomes much more critical when your offense is limited on talent and scheme.  But hell, maybe he'll never see what AR had to deal with from 2015-2018.

It's a lot different than baseball or basketball. There's way too much injury risk to have guys playing minor league football. And like basketball, the NFL takes advantage of a system that doesn't force them to spend much money on player development. College football and pre-season games are the NFL's minor league games. The NFL gets away with shifting most of the costs of evaluating 18-20-year-olds to universities (mostly power-5 conferences). The Power 5 conference giants make huge money but most of the other teams lose money for their universities. Shifting player development to colleges also gets the NFL off the hook for a lot of future liability cases for CTE. Having minor league football brings a lot more guys into that equation.

The NBA gets a little bit of help from universities (one year) and the universities get to make money off of March Madness. However, most of the evaluation occurs on the AAU circuit and by shoe companies when the kids are 15-18 years old.

MLB is much different because most baseball teams lose money for universities and very few people have ever even watched a national title game. MLB has to pay money to evaluate its prospects through the minor league system.

There is nothing Mahomes has done or is doing with the football that Rodgers hasn’t already done. Does he have weapons? Yes. A good system? Yes. Numbers as a result? Yes. But the best thrower of the football to E-V-E-R play the game is Aaron Rodgers. No one has or likely will ever do it better than Rodgers. Period. There is no debate. Mahomes only hopes to match, because he’ll never exceed.
