Yup, that's my take on him as well. Not only that, if Rodgers really did say that in SF, it was probably because Jennings had already made it known he wanted out. And Rodgers has a point: his number hasn't changed. If all you really want is five minutes, call him and make it happen or talk right then. Don't try to take it in the open. It's probably a desperate need to stay relevant.

Favre was a great player who ascended along with the Packers return to glory.....then Holmgren left and he became a reckless egomaniac.

And Wolf and Harlan made one of the few mistakes they would ever made by first hiring Ray Rhodes, and then elevating Mike Sherman to the GM level after Wolf left.  Imagine how different this would have played out had they just hired Andy Reid instead of Rhodes. We'd probably all be screaming about Reid's lousy clock management costing them another ring or two instead of "just" the two more they probably win with Reid. They had Ahman Green for those reckless egomaniac years and if Favre was under control they would have been a perennial 13 win team in the early 2000s.

Yeah losing Holmgren in '98 and then Wolf just a couple years later really set the organization back.  Harlan and Wolf both deserve at least a little bit of blame for the decision to elevate Mike Sherman to a dual HC/GM role.  I kind of understand why they did it, there had been so much turmoil from '98-'01 in the front office that it was their crazy way of "stabilizing" things.

It was the wrong move though.  Giving a guy that just a couple years earlier was nothing more than a position coach full control of personnel as well as coaching decisions, it's amazing that 2 guys as smart as Harlan and Wolf are actually though that was a good idea.  Mike Sherman was a good man who actually did do some good things for a 5 year span, but when that span was up, man did he leave things a mess.

He knows on some level that he blew it. He really blew it. Instead of being a big deal for life like Donald Driver is, he's a blip on the radar screen.

Agreed.  As I've mentioned before, in 2008 Greg Jennings came to a company function we had due to a relationship my company had with the Packers at that time.  He was an awesome dude and he fit right in with all of us, had his wife and kids with him, he was great.  At that point, I don't think his ego had gotten out of control yet.

Flash forward just a couple years later, it seems like he became a guy that the fame went to his head a little bit, and now that it's crashed down a little bit, I think he's still trying to figure out what to do.  It's not a good look for him, but I choose to remember the really cool guy we all hung out with over 10 years ago.  That version of Greg Jennings was awesome.

Mike Sherman was an outstanding running game coordinator. He was a decent offensive coordinator, and an average head coach. He was an awful general manager.

The closest comparison in the league right now is Matt Nagy (except replace running game coordinator with passing game coordinator). Nagy isn't the GM, but he's contributed to some very questionable personnel decisions that may set the Bears back for the next 5 years.

I still scratch my head over how they thought that was a good decision.  Harlan of all people should have understood what a mess the Packers front office was before Wolf got there to fix things.

There have been 3-4 throws he's made this season that no QB in the NFL can make because they don't have the combo of his arm strength AND accuracy. That will decline in the next 2-5 years, however, he's still at a level most QB can only dream of.

Off the top of my head the throws were the TD to Jamaal, there was a  completion to Tae deep where he was covered and he slides it right past the DB on a tough angle into Tae's hands I think vs Carolina. There was one to Jimmy Graham that was insane as well.

Ask Kramer.

I just had a vision of Kramer's character being Jerry Kramer.  Jerry and Elaine are talking football and Jerry Kramer says " Well Elaine, let me tell you what Lombardi woulda said about that..." and then he  would've relayed a story about how Max and Hornung would have liked visiting Elaine at her place, after curfew.

Back in the early 90's Rome was working at XTRA Sports 690 in San Diego on the midnight to ? shift. He played the song "Up All Night" during the broadcast.
Always the self promoter he predicted that he would be HUGE in the sports field and was selling t-shirts with HUGE on the front and back.
3 or 4 of us working for Unocal at the Torrance Tank Farm in Lomita bought the shirts and I still have mine!
A great crew at that station including Chet Forte who was making a comeback from his gambling addiction.
Somewhere in my stash I have audio clips of Rome's traveling jungle visiting Green Bay. The best one is Sean Jones calling Sterling Sharpe an asshole for holding out.

It probably doesnt help either that Greg is friends with Colin Cowherd, who is always looking to criticize Rodgers, and is always on his show
