Who would be in favor of Joe Thomasโ€™ proposal of giving Rodgers final say over the roster? Serious throwback to Curly Lambeau days of a player/coach/GM. I say fuck it, give it a try. Make the 3 headed leadership monster with Rodgers, LaFleur and Murphy. Murphy handles all the non-football ops, LaFleur handles the coaching side, Rodgers handles the final roster say and then you hire an experience ops guy to manage everything except final roster say.

WWJ is already packing

This is not a smack talk forum. Go to Rube Chat if all you want to do is call everyone a moron or a pussy. Get some space on Alโ€™s blog if you just want to shout your rude opinion.

X4 is apparently FOR pussies if thatโ€™s the kind of place youโ€™re looking for.

Jesus fuck.

BTW, go through all those posts and see how much of it is discussing the actual conversation relating to football.  You only get the responses you do when you float bullshit my way.  You try to paint me into a stereotype and you think I'm going to let it walk?  Maybe we can go through the list of your responses like HankBuc or "I'm a Rodgers fan first" or the other weak shit.

Always need that villain.

I would modify the trade proposal to include Jeudy or Fant or Surtain instead of one of the 1st rounders.  Any one of those three are more valuable than another late round 1st.

What makes you think it would be late round picks?  Denver plays KC twice plus an up and coming Chargers twice.   It would take NOG awhile to learn a new offense and get adjusted  to the new teammates.  Denver could easily go 8-9 in the 1st season with NOG.  and as he probably will continue to decline the record could get even worse in future years.

No way.  Too much goes into scouting and roster building to put that on a QBs shoulders.  Rodgers may think he wants that but he doesn't.  Imagine having to cut your friends.  Or worse, you keep your friends over more deserving players to then lose the respect of the team.

I wish Rodgers would just say what he wants.  I really wonder if he's just upset about the NFCC and is just lashing out and really doesn't know what he wants.

Thomas said he imagines it would similar to a lot of situations in the league where the GM doesnโ€™t technically have final say over the roster. Basically like Andy Reid/Brett Veach in KC. Veach does all the work of a GM, ostensibly including the cutting, but ultimately Andy calls the shots on big picture vision, draft, free agent targets, etc. SEA, NE, JAX, LV, and maybe others have neutered GMโ€™s. Thatโ€™s obviously not the same as a player/GM, but Rodgers is certainly an incredibly unique player in this league. I donโ€™t think itโ€™s a realistic idea, but if any player could pull it off itโ€™s him.
