That’s crazy how far ahead he is considering he’s missed a number of games due to injury.  I suppose Antonio Brown would be closer if he wasn’t an absolute head case but, he’s a psycho who is lucky he ever he got back in the NFL at all.

Just to add numbers to your thought, DA has missed 4 games in 2019 (MLFs first year), and 2 full games (actually 2.5 games) in 2020.  In those games the Packers are 6-0.  That is also a testament to the job MLF and AR have done.

While we're worrying about how/if Gute screwed up with Rodgers, let's not forget that Davonte Adams will be playing the last year of his deal this year and is an UFA in 2022.

He's 29 years old, he's a top 5 WR and has more than lived up to his last deal. Seems like someone you'd want to lock down, especially considering the GMs drafting record with WRs here.

Also - interesting to note that Green Bay currently has 1 WR under contact beyond this year - UDFA Bailey Gaither.  I guess Gutey thinks we can just split out 2-3 of the 78 OL he's drafted?

No question the Rodgers situation will have a trickle down effect and I think Adams extending or being extended is a 50/50 proposition at best.  Prior to this?  Probably 90/10 he extends with GB.

If Rodgers is dealt after June 1 the Packers would free up enough cash to extend Adams and maybe even Jaire Alexander before they hit UFA.   But Adams may want to test the waters given everything that’s transpired.

Some are speculating he could get closer to 30 million a year. As has been said, all it takes is one owner.

For comparison the top 3 WR's salaries are:

DeAndre Hopkins is averaging 27, 250,000.00 per year.

Julio Jones is at 22 mil per year,

Keenen Allen is at just over 20 mil per year,

I love Adams, he'll get his money somewhere. I just don't think it'll be in GB. The Packers don't value WR's this high and remember this team hasn't taken a WR in the 1st round since 2005.

LaFluer wants and is building a Rams/9ers style Shanahan offense that is run heavy and doesn't require super stars at WR.  IMO, GB would much rather spend that money at corner (Alexander), pass rusher (eventually Gary), or along the OL or DL.

Well see, but I am not holding my breath.

Not sure it's worth paying a WR more than $25m per year, especially when he's turning 30 nest year.  Just look at the Julio Jones deal in Atlanta for how a WR contract for a future HOFer can turn bad.

That said, the Packers left themselves with no options to replace Davante, so they may not have a choice.  Even if Rodgers retires or leaves, you can't trot out Love with MVS as his #1 WR.

Nope!

And rightly so. Great WRs are an unnecessary component of championship teams. A stupid luxury. I mean, what is our record without Adams over the last 2 years.
