They’re gonna trade him going into the 2021 Draft to the Broncos.
They’re gonna trade him during the 2021 Draft to the Broncos.
They’re gonna trade him after the 2021 draft because he’s mad.
They’re gonna trade him because he missed OTAs.
They’re gonna trade him if he misses training camp.
They’re gonna trade him if he holds out and misses the first game.
They’re gonna trade him at the trade deadline.
They’re gonna trade him after the 2021 season when the cap  hit is minimal.

They’re gonna trade him before the 2022 Draft.
They’re gonna trade him during the 2022 Draft.

They’re gonna……..

Rodgers won’t be opting out today on the COVID deadline, but he’s gone and it should break later this month. Interesting to see Adams’ future now.

Time for the FO to get a sense of reality and trade trade that mofo for a king’s randsom. That’s the only reason I’m mad at Murphy. TRADE THE FUCKER.

I have to give credit to Goalline and Pakrz because they've been hating on Rodgers before this whole thing blew up.  Also, they like losing so that helps too.

The rest of you Sallys that turned on a dime to be front office ball fondlers and so concerned about the players feelings, well.

I think the Davante Adams thread being about Davante Adams is pretty underrated too.

Did everyone get their Aaron Rodgers takes out of their system for now? Anymore abstract nicknames and insults Diggr?

Well, fuck you. Beck wrote a song about us. Who's written a song about you?

I am no contract guru but I don’t see how the team can afford the future cap hit and still keep our highest paid player. I think that Adams is a great WR but may have priced himself off the team.

Before I studied Zen, a bowl was just a bowl and tea was just tea.

While I studied Zen, a bowl was no longer a bowl and tea was no longer tea.

After I studied Zen, a bowl was again a bowl and tea was again tea.

But through all my studies, Aaron Rodgers was always an asshole.

But an asshole that gives us the best chance to win a Super Bowl in the next 3-5 years.

Keep him, trade him, zero fucks given.

Did he price himself off the team or by playing outstanding did he play himself off the team?

Does your moderator hat have "free hugs" embroidered on it?

Packers are already $30m over the 2022 cap so that's going to be lead to cuts and restructurings and they'll still need to seriously backload Adams' deal.  Let's say he's signed to a 4 year $100m deal, the first year cap hit will likely be under $10m just to make the cap work in 2022.  That means an average of $30m cap hit in this next 3 years (assuming he plays out the full contract).  If you thought Rodgers $30m cap hit was preventing this team from building a Super Bowl roster, how about a $30m cap hit from a WR.  But I still think they sign Adams, we'll just be feeling some serious pain in 2023-2025.

And for those that will inevitably suggest adding dummy years to the deal to push the cap hit out.......the Packers will be taking a $16m cap hit in 2021 and in 2022 just on restructured deals.  That's part of the reason the Packers are in such rough cap shape in 2022.

They’re in rough shape because the cap went backwards $20M, which they likely structured cap hits assuming a rising cap. The teams that weren’t fucked by the cap were teams that were purposely rebuilding and had shes salaries like NE or teams or never use their cap space fully, like JAX. They also assumed they would be doing another December restructure with Rodgers, which always eases the burden. There’s space to push Rodgers money into ‘22/‘23.

Until the league reigns in dummy years, there’s no reason not to give Adams a 3 year, $90M deal with 7 additional dummy years or whatever. Its what KC did with Mahomes essentially. Pay a manageable amount over 3 years and then keep him on the books for a while at a low cost. Cap will keep going up.
