Best thing is, AJ is a good guy. On Twitter, he's always hanging around GB, Door County, and interacting with his followers. Here's a link to how he stopped his recording session to go greet fans who were touring Lambeau -- and made sure everyone got a photo with him if they wanted it -- even if we were there for a Lambeau tour the same day and just missed seeing him!

He did get married in Door County right??  https://www.jsonline.com/story...777397001/?gnt-cfr=1

from AJ’s twitter account regarding the Green Bay Cops….
AJ “Quadzilla” Dillon
@ajdillon7
Just miscommunication between parties, the @GBPolice are great people and I’m glad we have them down there for our games to keep us safe. Standing there in the pouring rain with all those people it’s hard to know what’s going on with just one. All good.

He sure IS Packer people eh??  ♥️

I like that Quadzilla nick name alot !

Not so hot take - AJ is the #1 rusher this year with more carries and rushing yards than Jones, but with Jones ending up with more combined rushing and receiving yards and a higher YPC.  They combine for 2,100 yards rushing and 3,000 combined yards.  Last year they had 1,600 and 2,300.

Dillon - 1,200 yards rushing, 250 yards receiving

Jones - 900 yards rushing, 650 yards receiving.

Dillon's numbers increase as the weather turns, but I can also see why a lot of fans feel like his numbers are "off"

Not a hot take, just a sincere Q hoping to engender considered responses; Should the Pack start easing AJ Dillon out of the RB rotation?

Dillon is in year 4 and RBs rarely get better with age. He has always lacked burst, but seems slower now than ever. It is not like AJ is running many defenders over either anymore. He goes down with first contact most times. His yards per carry have gone from 5.3 to 4.3 to 4.1 over his first three seasons. Aaron Jones rushed 9 times for 41 yards against the Bears. Dillon went 13 for 19 yards.

Dillon's drop of a decent Love pass while wide open yesterday was not exactly a surprise either.

AJ has very little upside, he is highly unlikely to be re-signed after the season other than for the veteran minimum, and the rest of the offense is littered with youngsters with promise. Dillon does not seem like a fit for the present or the future. There is a reason the Pack checked in on Jonathan Taylor.

I know Dillon is "experienced." I acknowledge that he may know who to block in the passing game and that is helpful to Jordan Love. But I could not help noticing  3rd string RB Patrick Taylor rushing 5 times for 22 yards yesterday and looking more explosive that AJ.

Is it ridiculous to think that, in this season of change and re-birth, it might make sense to give another RB some of Dillon's snaps?

Dillon has lost speed and didn't have a lot of burst to begin with, but I do think he knows he hasn't played up to his first year and is trying to correct it. I just don't know if he can do that at this point. Maybe he has spent too much time doing outside things; maybe he's just aging faster. I wish MLF had activated Wilson yesterday so we could see how he is progressing. Maybe we'll see him this week if Jones can't go, and then we can decide what to do about Dillon. But I agree that if he doesn't get better real soon, Dillon will be visiting Door County only in the off-season.

All the final 53 talk was about Dillon and Jones being locks, and releasing Wilson. I don't get the love affair with Dillon. Wilson is too dangerous not to use. Dillon is not breaking anything.

You guys are making Wilson sound like Bo Jackson, for crying out loud. He’s a nice developmental project, nothing more, nothing less. Take a deep breath.

Dillon's has all the measurables (an elite RAS score that was similar to Derrick Henry's), has good work habits, seems like a great person , but, as Lombardi put it, he just not have the ability to "run to daylight". I don't think it is something that you can teach.

The thing that makes running backs special is their sense of balance and how that allows them to recover from slight impacts and re-directs. AJ's size and strength works against him. If his center isn't directly over his feet, he's going down. He might be better off playing 20 lbs lighter but if that doesn't increase his speed there's not much to be gained. Jonathon Taylor would have been a huge pickup. Bummed that it didn't happen.

Interesting that they elevated Taylor and had Wilson as inactive, though PT was brought up more for ST than RB action.

If Jones misses ATL we could see Webster as a game day active and sharing the carries with Dillon.

Who thinks that having Dillon running sideways to the line of scrimmage at the start of the play is an appropriate use of his talents?

Aside from LaFleur? Nobody.

I'm not convinced JT will play again for the Colts. They are probably hoping a RB dependent team (Ravens?) will lose someone they were really relying on...

Packers and Aaron Jones (GULP!)
