I'll let Thompson know that he's a 1/2 inch too short for you.

I did'nt think that message got posted. I went to SI to find his height and was just reporting what his height was listed as. I was not meaning to say because he was 5'105 that I was not happy with the pick- just making the statement. Take a deep chug and a deep breath BeerGuy. Relax a little.

Not necessarily.

Unless he signs the the tender. If he signs an offer sheet for starter money with another team we can let him walk and get a 3rd round pick as compensation (his original round).

Some team may be willing to do that, and I'm sure we'd be happy to have the pick.

Bad pick. Reach. Non-football school risk. Mostly lucky. Not a position of need. Thompson's ego at work. Trying to be too cute. Too small. Dum.

Oh, and here's his catch to beat the 'Cocks last year, 1:15 left in the game.

We had just offed #1 'Bama the previous week.

I love a "reach" on someone projected a round earlier than he was taken.

I am.

Me either. People need to get over Jones dropsies. The guy is a baller that will only get better.

Perennial winners have great depth and can utilize different players in different situations. Cobb and Green sound like the Wes Welker/Danny Woodhead players that make the offense even more dangerous.
It isn't all about the dropsies with me. It's got something to do with bone-crushing drops at the most critical moments, sure, to a relatively minor extent. It's more about how (a) no way Ted lets him get to this point if he considers him more than a luxury to keep around at the team's price and (b) some dumdum team will pay him number one money that he's not worth.

Jennings didn't even get to RFA. Don't be shocked to see Jordy get a deal when the CBA crap is resolved. They paid Driver a couple of years ago when they didn't have to. Finley is a decision that's already on the horizon, and that's a huge one. I just think there's only so much $$ to go around one position group when you're this deep.

I don't know about this pick being a direct replacement for Jones, but it's at minimum a CYA if Jones leaves.

Green Bay fans....here you got the steal of this entire draft. This kid is Mr. EXCITEMENT on the football field. He can do it all at FOUR postions! Watch the film of this guy. Watch him in the second half against AUBURN this year. Best player on the field.

From the comments too. Really? Double super bonus glee.

Kid reminded me of a blend of Robert Brooks and a young Donald Driver from the video I saw.

'nuther hell yeah I figgure!

The Cobb kid has a great set of returner skills and would look good in the slot.

But I was really hoping TT would trade up to get Reed. Frowner

Let me tell you. It's a concentration problem, not a skill problem. A young guy that can mature over a case of concentration lapse, not skill lapse, is worth keeping.

Think about it. Driver, at the end of his career. Jennings, Jones, Nelson; great core. Who is there after that? Swain? You're 4 deep with Cobb. How many teams have 5 or 6 receivers in depth?

How many balls did Jordy drop at opportune times? You see Jones make a big time catch and you wonder how I can think he can only get better?

Simple fact, fans get one or two plays in their head and stick the player with a tag. Jones isn't Robert Ferguson, he has made more than one impressive catch.

Christ, how many people were flipping between Jordy and Jones as "cut him now" scapegoats throughout the season.

You're a slowcoach to think he can't get "better". Try to fight through the stupid.
