from NFP,

Agent Jack Bechta opines about TE's and their still-increasing value in the NFL.

Big year for Tight Ends: Fantasy football geeks, listen up; Offensive coordinators are busy this off-season designing more multiple TE packages. Don’t be surprised to see some teams using more two TE’s on the field at a time (remember what Harbaugh was doing with TE packages at Stanford).

With defenses spending the last twelve years drafting, coaching and developing corners to cover three and four receiver packages, the pendulum may start swinging the other way. Offenses can create great mismatches by having two and even three TE’s on the field at once. Most defenses don’t have the personnel to defend two big fast and talented TE’s.

I represented a top TE in this year’s draft and was surprised by the teams that were interested in drafting all the top TE’s. Most of these teams already had two good TE’s and wanted more. The top five TE’s taken in this years draft will see plenty of playing time as will those drafted in the first three rounds last year.

Don't forget the Packers with Chmura and Jackson back in the 90's.

Gronk should have never signed up for the Brian Bosworth school of Yoga.

No kidding.  Was much fun watching them bitch slap the 49ers and the Cowboys with plays out of the stacked TE formation.  KJ could really bust up the seam.

It will be interesting to see what GB can do with TEs that can both block and catch passes.  The opposition will have tougher time guessing if it is pass or run by personnel groupings.  That maybe where they are going with Lyeral and Rodgers.  Quarless is already injured this year.  Can't even get out of OTAs healthy.

....Rodgers to Rodgers...TD !

Aaron wanted a different guy from Cal, but this one looks like a winner

I like his ability to post up/ box out in the red zone

No.  They were on one end of the field when I got there and then I moved down during the team period.  I wasn't paying much attention to the TE's. I wouldn't be able to evaluate them anyhow so it's a moot point I suppose.

Just watched this weeks McCarthy show with special guest Richard Rodgers.

I can see why they all like the kid, Real humble, nice, big ass smile, just a happy kid who looks like he's living his dream.  Packer People for sure.

He seems to be getting better every week, would love to see him become a star for us.

Thanks Ted

Fixed.

5 targets

5 catches

40 yards

3rd and 1 - quick shot from AR slightly behind RR and he pulls it in for the 1st down

3rd and 4 - quick shot from AR with defender all over him and RR muscles it away for the 1st down

The QB Rodgers from CAL is slowly gaining confidence in the TE Rodgers from CAL.

AR used to say DJ Williams caught everything. Rodgers actually does catch everything.

Rodgers can't block a barstool. But if he can become AR's safety valve on 3rd and 4,5,6 and be a sure handed chain mover when it's needed he's gold to this offense. The other thing I like about Rodgers is he strongly opposes being tackled.
