That type of foot injury he had is prone to reinjury.
I hold out as much expectation for Biegel as say Martinez in previous years.

The diaphyseal bone (zone II), where the fracture occurs, is an area of potentially poor blood supply, existing in a watershed area between two blood supplies. This may compromise healing. In addition, there are various tendons, including the peroneus brevis and fibularis tertius, and two small muscles attached to the bone. These may pull the fracture apart and prevent healing.
I say an NFL player has access to better doctors than the average joe.
Dez Bryant had a Jones fracture in 2015 and Julio Jones in 2013. According to some articles about those guys, it takes 6-12 weeks to heal with 2-6 weeks of no weight-bearing. Article on Jones here.
It's also the same injury that ended Kevin Durant's season a couple years ago, and ended the careers of many NBA players.
Sounds like Biegel may be a candidate for IR already; maybe putting his locker between Clay and Perry jinxed him.

I didn't think about PUP, but yes, he could go there if I'm reading the rule correctly.
I am not a podiatrist but I am the prototypical stiff old white guy so I have been to several podiatrists and have seen guys with this injury and they get some special boot and I think they give them injections to promote blood circulation and bone healing. We will see if this is a chronic injury or they get it right this time but I think discussions of PUP list and IR are premature. Now I know we all fantasized about a 10 sack season for Vince but lets just be realistic if he was a good as Fackrell last year GB did all right. Remember Clay did not play much until midseason in 09!!

He hurt the foot last year and obviously it wasn't taken care of correctly.
